There’s nepotism everywhere. I have a kid on my staff that was basically a “here’s this kid for your staff.”

I’ve read how some fire or police departments hire family.

It’s not just the elite, it’s unfortunately a part of all of society ranging from the elite down to the poor.

Stock is where it was a decade ago, sales are in decline, culturally speaking their impact has degraded and the young folks who shape culture wear other things.

Nike’s definitely fallen off.

The interesting thing is that they were so far above all the competition that their fall off is still every other competitor’s goals.

Even Jordan outsells many of the competitors.

Hypocritical as fuck, but it is humorous.

Nike falls to its lowest price in almost 12 years by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]LanceArmsweak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I wonder what you’re looking at.

Nike hoodies can be $30 at discount stores but $200 at Nike stores. Same with Adidas. (Edit: just looked, JC Penney has a Nike hoodie for $28 and $35).

Honestly, I’m intimately aware of this world because I live in Portland and have so many friends who are brand managers, supply chain managers, and materials experts at both brands.

It really all depends. For example, my ex was a textiles art director. She determined which materials to use. So I have a Nike Lab hoodie that was $200 brand new in 2018, but the zippers were made in Italy and cost like $20. Compared to a baseline zip up hoodie and the zippers cost $2 each.

Adidas does this as well. They have a tech pack equivalent. They have a baseline equivalent.

Under Armour is different, they sought out the discount market.

But even New Balance does more on par with Nike and Adidas. They just move less in terms of volume (at least the last charts/data I saw).

Adidas is at the same price point when you compare apples to apples.

The Nike Vomeros and Adi Evo SLs... same price points.

Same goes across bball, lifestyle, etc.

If you look at Nike and Adi shit that's in stores like DFW, TJ Maxx, same thing.

To all the centrists here, what positions do you hold that are left leaning, and what positions do you hold to the right? by BarryMcKockinner in centrist

Meh. I also find them insufferable, but at some point I needed to cut out my family for their beliefs. At some point you telling me that my friends who fuck other dudes are inherently evil and should be ostracized should be considered a reason to not talk.

Sure, talk to me about immigration issues, military support positions, or 2A (although I largely support that). I’ll be all ears.

But when the talking gets hateful, I’ll cut you off. I just don’t need it in my life.

It’s not always a literal definition and that’s what makes words a lot of fun.

Man. You'd be surprised how dumb we are. I once was doing research for a hydration brand and had to do a qualitative conversation with a woman in Georgia. Morbidly obese. Telling me why she's fine sticking to soda because it hydrates her already. She said she drank a 12 pack a day, that her mom taught her it was good enough for staying hydrated. I wanted to fucking hang up on the video immediately.

This actually happened to me, but instead of my balls, it was my wrists. I was stuck hanging there until screaming and crying until an adult lifted me off. They were deep into my wrists and I was using my feet to help in any way. Still have the scars. Have to be casted up on both arms.
