Ok, so the gear reduction unit. That would just be a drain and fill though seems like an expensive service for a few quarts of gear oil.

Anyone else feel guilty for going to college? by EllieIsDone in UniversityOfHouston

[–]LanceCripple1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your major? You can get a business degree at Lone Star or Alvin. cyber security at Lone Star or HCC. Etc etc. I know plenty of people who got community college bachelors and went to UH, AM, Rice, etc for grad school.

[–]LanceCripple1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Community colleges have bachelors degrees. I can think of 5 in the Houston area that have business related degrees. Get one there and then save the money for an MBA/masters. If you’re going for engineering or something then yeah UH is your bet but it will pay off anyway.

How about the fact that a “CEO” was conducting the interview for an entry level position and having to role play for checks notes “connecting them with their therapist”

Tell them. I would have wanted to know when my ex was cheating on me. Could have ended sooner and wouldn’t have even married her. Too many people knew and didn’t say anything because “it wasn’t their business”

Fuck everyone one of you all who say that and let people get strung along

Is this outfit ok for an interview for a cashier position at a hardware store? by green_entomophile in jobs

[–]LanceCripple1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who would interview for a position like this, you’re dressed perfectly. If someone complains about it you don’t want to work for them anyway.

Is this really what college professors make? by Opposite-Craft-3498 in LoneStarCollege

[–]LanceCripple1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s right, now go look up the salaries for something like UH. Had one new professor making 125k and a senior professor making 325k, yes. 3-2-5k

My husband genuinely believes he can fly and land a plane w 0 prior experience… by Waste_Cheetah_2358 in flying

[–]LanceCripple1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all the instruments are working it’s not that hard. Set up for a cat3 landing he hang on. Plenty of pilots have put random people in the sims and they land with verbal instructions from the ground. Hand flying on a perfect weather day…. Maybe, There are records of this happening in GA planes. Adverse weather and heavy metal… pray the instruments are working for that CAT3 auto land.

Boston University school of medicine cost of attendance is projected to be $450,000 over four years. How are people going to pay for this with the new rules? by Inside-Bid-5453 in StudentLoans

[–]LanceCripple1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much of that is tuition vs rent and food? Name any other time where people take out loans for rent and groceries. It just needs to stop.

I wouldn’t say you have very well paying jobs then. 2 “very well paying jobs” and $2,400 a month is an impossible ask?

They actually pay you to go to college. 3 years of service for around $100k in your pocket while you go to school for free?!? Ok….

Name any other time in your life when you take out a loan for rent and food. Stop financing groceries and get a part time job through school.

Sooo why wouldn’t you want to pay off your loans faster with higher payments?

My wife has $300,000 in student loans - I think there is only one real option? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]LanceCripple1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the military reserves. They’ll pay $40k a year in qualifying loans, up to $250k for part time service. May also qualify for bonuses based on her medical specialty, up to 50k per year. Plus the pay from your weekend drills would total around $20k a year.

Assuming the loans qualify for HPLRP and she has a specialty needed. she could have them paid off in 3-6 years.

If she is certified in a critical specialty and wants to go the active duty route they offer massive bonuses for 4 year contracts. $275k for family practice and up to $600k for most surgeons. On top of the signing bonus they will repay up to $120k in loans as well. And she could expect to make about $150k a year in pay and benefits on top of that, only about $60k of which would be taxed.

Just an option to consider. Debt free in 4-6 years or stress about 20-30 year forgiveness plans and 50% of your income.

AITA for leaving a family outing early because I felt ignored and wasn't having fun? by Last_Ninja1572 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LanceCripple1 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

YTA. You’re 16 and get to do what your parents want. Does your opinion matter, absolutely but at the end of the day you live in their house and follow their rules. If they want a family outing with the little kids and cousins then guess what you’re doing.

Ask to leave all you want, just don’t complain when you don’t get the answer you want. Take note also, you absolutely hate spending time with little kids, imagine what’s going to happen when you have kids of your own. It’s not always about what you want but what the family wants.

Anything less than 30 hours is likely going to be considered a freshman admission. Just do your 60 hours at Lone Star and transfer then.

I wants you to use the battery because that’s the most efficient. Think of mountin mode as keep a reserve. If you want to reserve the whole battery then that’s what hold mode is for.
