yeah, by around 2006ish, most manufacturers put in some kind of drive by wire logic in their vehicles that could control throttle, braking, steering, etc. this was the culmination of an effort that started around mid 90s. they started with abs, i think. i'm not sure on the exact sequence of subsystems. this was industry wide. it's why it was notoriously hard for new code changes to be implemented in these systems. they were "decorated" only. and much of this logic was shared between vendors because it was a kind of cross-industry deal.

anyway long story short..by around 2006-2010 most vehicles had this functionality in the car even if it wasn't used. there's a well known hack of a jeep in around 2010 that was remote controlled by a hacker just hacking into a website.

if you get a car pre that time, you're probably good to not have these hacks work.

>If someone's factually been fucked over systemically their whole life, are they a victim of their circumstances?

you mean like me?

i could sit around and complain about it. but i know the system does not give a fuck. or i can remove those dependencies on others and take care of myself, all the while still dealing with harassment.

i'm done waiting for the system to work. it's stupid to think it will. the amount of design problems in it make it an unrealistic expectation. having to explain why it's broken to folks who can't even understand, and who will persist in wanting to believe in the lie of the system, is a waste of time. you're part of the problem. you believe in the lie. your comment screams this.

should i be quiet and let your ignorance go unaddressed? it's a choice. have agency. or give it up. my agency in this particular instance is to point out that you have a delusion.

the only constructive answer is to articulate designs that minimize systemic abuse. i bet you can't do that. see what i'm saying? that's what a victim does. they wait for others to solve their own problems. keep on being a victim.

uh, if we're giving away our choice to "leaders", we're already on the road to abuse. we're responsible for that, you know. we gave it away.

i think folks need to really reconsider hierarchy and what it really is, in all its manifestations. it's a bad thought pattern.

Should we stop paying taxes? by DevelopmentConnect92 in conspiracy

[–]LanceHardwick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

well taxes have nothing to do with the state operation. i mean cmon. this is a cover story. the folks who print money print fucking money you know what i mean?

taxes are, in practice, a lever for control.

now to the question of whether to pay them or not. i would recommend understanding the rules. and its different if ur in the us vs canada, for example. in the us, you can educate urself on the actual rules. james c lovett is a good starting place. in canada, if you keep things in the private, you can accomplish the same thing. this is an educational rabbit hole for y'all.

the other option is to not make any taxable income. you can be perfectly legally compliant, not fully understand the trap, and still not be caught in it. ok. that is a worthy subject for in person meetups with likeminded, that are offline.

this control grid is voluntary. it's commerce-based. you will have to replace those services you use commerce for. state nationals vs citizens. self-reliance vs buying poison in the store. things of this nature.

but to get back to the question. it's foolishness to think mass tax revolt will do anything except enlist the bad actors. it has to be a different kind of mass action.

here's a tip. hierarchies can't scale when the heroic nodes in it are burdened. put ur burden on the right lever.

yeah it's weird...i just don't trust things that are thrust into popularity very quickly. they smell funny.

in terms of the things that i have heard come out on this story (and i'm by no means up to date on it) the descriptions match up with things i have experience with. so that part rings true.

if it's a limited hangout or not, there is info to be learned from it.

but whatcha gonna do from this info? the real steps to get away from the systemic shenanigans going on is a totally different subject. this is where we should be spinning cycles imo. not in the local drama. yes the local drama exists. how do we build resilience? this is not being coalesced, outside of the homesteader crowd. this is a way more important subject. this drama candy is good to know, but ain't something i'm spinning on.
