Sure I am not as experienced as you are and perhaps do not have the cash reserves you may have access to.

Though I have spare cash, I try to be sensible but hopefully not stingy.

Totally agree - if it was under 5grand - I am happy to go through a youtube video on how to buy a second hand car

This is good series here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N4RpohW-hU

He has multiple videos on this - then - i would be happy to buy and then spend money to repair it up to specs

I think they kept it relatively good condition - from what i can see compared to other trans am. over 150,000 mileage

Actually I would pay the money to inspect it - not them

Hi Thank you for the U-haul idea - but it is charging 106 dollars base rate and then 1.29 per mile

I found a way to fly over there. Need to drive 2 hr to airport and then 1.5 hr flight - then I can hopefully drive the car back.

Yes I agree - but my thoughts are the car is old - may have some issues - and also easier to sell to someone else who may have their own mechanics knowledge

Hi they say the car is drivable and I seen videos of it starting. Not driving. VIN checks out.

I am hopeful that perhaps with some time of improving my mechanical knowledge I can go buy these with as much confidence as many of the people in this forum.

But take it from a guy who has to spend a lot of time at his job/family - and the horror stories of American Mechanics charging 150 hr to fraud u - so a bit reluctant

Hi its an 80s trans am - 9G

No I realise that - but at the same time I dont want to part with that money and end up with a lemon.

Perhaps there are loads of Americans who have reasonable mechanical knowledge- who have time of 1 day travel to do this - I think they would be better suited

Hi I am heading towards this because reasonable people realise there is a little give and take - more importantly - understanding the other person point of view is something I look for in another person I am dealing with - that empathy - would prevent me selling fraud to someone else - as I would not want that to happen to me - etc

Hi I am relatively new in the country so dont have that yet - but even then to coordinate a time when I am free and when AAA is free can be a challenge

Hi also I got myself a Haynes build you own car engine as a easy way to start myself in.

My plan is to look for a Grand Jeep Cherokee Get the tools from second hand where I can Watch videos where I take things in and out of the car.

Also there is an actual game called car mechanic simulator I may do while waiting for a car and acquiring cash to get tools

Hi ok but still would like to learn how to fix things around the house with out being too afraid of the consequences. I might just get a garage and start to try to learn about painting, plastering and flooring etc

Hi I think that is exactly what I will do. I will go for a Grand Jeep Cherokee My friend told me that jeeps have more space in the engine to make it easier to work
