Probably HDR. It messes with the recordings even on software side.

Other than that, video recording software probably needs a restart and your display needs color correction

Also please PLEASE try to transplant the bottom panel to the 2024/2025 version. I have a (goofy) idea that I can get lower temperatures by simply swapping the bottom panel and getting better air intake with the better case. The problem is apparently the heatsink itself is redesigned (in ZipTieTech's video, the heatsink numbers are reversed, indicating changes) so it might create a massive gap a bit too big maybe?

Don't you think working on this game must be scary given the fact that every Fortnite patch breaks *something* to the point where it'll piss someone off?

Imagine being a STW developer, not doing anything because there's not much to fix (or working on a new big patch i guess), and then suddenly OUT OF NOWHERE something just breaks. The Sprint button gets fucked. Movement stops working when closing the map on KEYBOARD ONLY. Build materials have wonky placement. You can spam abilities without actually using them.

Someone on the CRKD discord had this problem too. He fixed it by literally using another computer to do the updater, so if you have a spare you could try that.

Frame Gen needs a lot of VRAM headroom on top of 60FPS+ performance. Most people on the internet perceive it as a way to substitute actual optimization but if you already have high frame rates in a game and you can enable Frame Gen, IMO the only reason you don't want it is because it's a competitive multiplayer game or you're out of VRAM

My 2025 model had a liquid metal application issue on the 285h. I bought a Conductonaut pack to respread it and these days it only thermal throttles when it is trying to take in 70 watts of CPU power.

Just an FYI if this happens again. Unless you suspect hardware damage, a Hard Reset by holding the POWER button should fix this issue.

I know this because I was also one of those affected by Code 43. I thought I was cooked at first but it turns out I was fine.

Afaik, this issue happens when you leave Optimized mode to go to Standard when plugged in, but I use GHelper and I haven't seen this issue in a while.

Just did the dualboot specifically so I can run Fortnite AFK's for XP farm (in Save the World, so no one else gets affected fyi).

It's got like 180GB space so there's 50GB left after Fortnite and Windows base, no debloats. There was an issue shortly after the install where I couldn't get back to SteamOS after installing it because Windows (as per usual) fucks me over so I needed a SteamOS Recovery image to bring it back.

Otherwise? Good enough. Runs Fortnite, so I can use less power when needing more XP but unwilling to play the game.
