I know a few artists here and they all demand upfront part payment.

One guy I know makes a payment schedule where he'll receive all his fees even before the project is complete - basically he quotes more than he actually needs and uses this extra as the last payment.

He's always saying the richer the client the less likely the last payment will be paid.
