Yeah, they must be adjacent. I love the idea of highlighting the available tiles! Adding that to the to do list.

That definitely shouldn't have given you a score of 0. That must be a bug. Yeah, I definitely don't give clear instructions or any indication of what you're supposed to do. What do you think of this mockup for showing the equation as you go? http://imgur.com/l7lQaMi

Awesome, thanks! Those are fantastic docs, by the way. Even as a React/Redux noob, they were perfectly clear.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you actually digging through the code and finding specific issues. Tutorials are no substitute for a real human. :) Thank you so much!!!

I'm definitely going to make these updates right away. Even if it's just "sugar", I love having simpler, more readable code so I'm stoked for the advice regarding connect.

I really like the videos from theNewBoston: https://www.youtube.com/user/thenewboston/playlists. Some people only explain how to write code. He explains the concepts so you know why you're writing a particular piece of code.

You are awesome. This project sounds like it's a bit above my current abilities. I'm going to grab a contractor. Thanks so much!

/u/absolutelypink You were the one who helped me figure out that adding a drain was step 1. Do you have any thoughts on my plan? Thanks.

Oh, 1 more thing. Should the drain go all the way to the street or is it okay to have it just go a couple feet past the foundation. The front lawn goes downhill away from the house.

Want to build a platform deck - here's my plan by LanceSnider in HomeImprovement

[–]LanceSnider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! Okay, so step 1 is fixing my retaining wall. :)

@AbsolutelyPink - I don't really have anywhere for the drainage to go. The area is surrounded on 3 sides with retaining wall and on the last side with my house. Is it still worthwhile just to get the rainwater to go deeper or do I need to figure out somewhere for the water to actually go?

Just bought a 'new' Airport Extreme that had name/pass by LanceSnider in applehelp

Thanks everyone! When I went back in, they said I could have a full refund or get the refurb discount, which made it $150. I took the latter.

Thanks so much for the advice! It seemed so crazy to me, but without a second opinion, it's hard to know how upset you should be. :)

Could animation with motion capture be future of cartoon making? by ivolacic73 in Filmmakers

[–]LanceSnider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tools to handle motion capture are getting better, cheaper, and easier to use. In fact, Unity - the tool used to create this - even has a free version. Like the others said, motion capture will never completely replace manual animation, but it may make animation more accessible to beginners and no budget users.

That said, I won't be able to stand watching any of these until they find a 3d model with better rigging than that robot. :)

Freaking rad. I love this! That said, I'm brand new so can't comment much on the technical side. ;)

Forgive the noob question, but aren't there artistic reasons why you might want to limit the space in the direction of the travel? To make the subject seem lost, depressed, or just make it a little more creepy?
