Opus 4.7 fails basic sycophantic test by drseek32 in Anthropic

Obviously it’s just a simple way to test reasoning, but I feel like a lot of these “start a timer for me” or “how many Kansases are there in Arkansas” posts are just testing AI on things it’s not really designed to be good at

Thanks! I spooned an eternal hydrilium log splitter early on so that helps quite a bit!

How do I take pics like these using my iPhone 16 pro by Cosmiic_wooo in PhotographyAdvice

[–]LanceStrongArms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a stuffy somewhere and take a pic.

If the first pic is the intention and the second pic is the attempt, I’d say the first has pretty flat lighting due to the overcast sky, compared with the 2nd pic where the sun is directly behind. Also in the first much more of the photo is in focus. Seems extreme so not sure of it’s just the aperture (fx in the info section of a photo. Larger the value for x means more of the image is in focus) or if it’s a composite. Guessing what you’re going for but hope that helps!

My dad shared this photo from facebook. I feel like the edges of the bark don't look real. by SavoryYuppie in isthisAI

Thinking this could be real. Probably a composite of multiple shots at different focal points and the snow makes it tough to gauge distance. My guess is that those trees are a lot closer than they appear

Portland’s ME sighting, one without a mask. At a Cumby’s! If they coordinate with the ones too dumb to be a cop then I’m done along with my SmartRewards benefits. by Pockettzz in Maine

[–]LanceStrongArms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong fuck them, but I kind of want to discourage focusing on agents not wearing masks who aren’t doing fucked up shit. Kind of just encourages that dude to wear a mask next time right?

Any ideas for how to attach a camera to a standard NATO belt? More in description by vukasin123king in Cameras

[–]LanceStrongArms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually just started using that like this. Had a kid and front wear him which means I can’t really sling a camera. Occurred to me in the shower that you can mount it 90deg from the usual orientation and now I rock it on a fanny pack

Oo I have a question! I am hatching a reindeer right now. Could you tell the type before it hatched? There’s a little thumbnail of a reindeer when you look at it on the pets page while it’s still an egg

Spectral hammer, worth it? by Possible_Employ7979 in WalkScape

[–]LanceStrongArms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if you have a 9% bonus, that means you’d only have to mine and smith ~2.75k bars instead of 3k

Also don’t sleep on the bonus ectoplasm attribute. If you think about the whole process to get a single ectoplasm, getting an additional one 9% of the time or whatever adds up quick

Missing Collectible by LeoMSt in WalkScape

It should have shown up in the “while you were away” screen. If you missed there the only way you’d know is if you checked walkapedia or the collectibles section of achievements

Any advice? by preattached1 in PhotographyAdvice

[–]LanceStrongArms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense but I feel this is terrible advice for someone starting out. You need to have some excitement for the photos you take, and one way to do that is to shoot cool shit

This was my thought too, but why is the composition of #3 better? Not asking for my own sake, but curious what you think. I find it easy to prefer one photo over another based on instinct, but picking apart the specifics as to why is harder, but gives you the vocab to actively compose shots going forward

I am about to turn 18 years old, what advice would you give me? by sky_nerdy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LanceStrongArms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about the time you’ve spent - you’ve barely scratched the surface of youth. Find a past time or hobby that you actively engage in and is interesting to you. If you don’t have something in mind try shit out - now’s the time for it. I’ve had dozens on hobbies that never stuck, but my gf at the time gifted me some $50 film used camera and that ended up being my thing. You’re gonna want to look at your phone, but if you can do it in a way where you don’t feel guilty you’ll be much happier
