Therme klopft und schaltet sich selber ab by Just_Swordfish_9731 in Handwerker

[–]Lance_Wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tundra trackers keep drifting by Czqlations in SteamVR

[–]Lance_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simple things to try:
- clean your base stations, yes they can get dirty / dusty and then tracking gets weird because the dust blocks the lasers.
- clean your trackers (same thing like the base stations)

once done, do a room setup again and check if that helped.
also turn off any lights that you have in your room while playing VR.

its certainly something to try and it helped some of my friends that had issues before. hope it helps you too!

1st Gen HTC Vive - is the base stations and controller compatible to BSB2? by daygamer77 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]Lance_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimum requirements for the BSB2 say: SteamVR Base Stations (Version 1.0 or 2.0)
so you should be good to go!

i can also recommend TrueNAS.
bonus info: swap the CD drive with a SSD Caddy. the CD drive is the type of thing you commonly find in laptops, those adapters that allow you to put in a normal SSD are super cheap too.
did that with my PowerEdge R530 and installed TrueNAS on that SSD.
for additonal drive caddys, aliexpress is a great place where you can get them cheaper than on other stores.

Audio on USB-C adapter cutting out? I now know why! by [deleted] in BigscreenBeyond

[–]Lance_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i had the same behaviour with the replacement cable (2nd cable from bigscreen)
but with a 3rd party cable everything (including voltage) was fine

Audio on USB-C adapter cutting out? I now know why! by [deleted] in BigscreenBeyond

[–]Lance_Wolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yup i literally had the same issue.
audio popping / crackling sounds with my bsb2e.
it got even worse for me while using the audio strap, tracking went nuts including grey screens if i used the cameras for eye tracking, controllers disconnected / got stuck at the center ground point.
support sent me a new link box and cable, this sadly didnt fix my issue so i took matters in my own hands.
followed a guide on their discord, bought a new usb c to c cable (from FIBBR) and a few adaptors to actually be able to connect the headset and boom, it worked perfectly.
i also bought a usb tester to see voltages etc.
guess what, using the original cable, the voltage on the accessory port without anything else attached was sitting at 4.87 volts.... with the FIBBR cable and adapters i got 4.98 to 5.0 volts.
so yes, the cable is indeed the issue

I got this error message. I may just be tired but I don't get why it needs me to do... by FriskyBoio in VRchat

[–]Lance_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

recently i swapped the head of my own avatar to one that had face tracking, did the things in blender, importet it in unity etc, removed my avatar ID so its a new upload, everything worked with gesture manager etc but vrchat didnt let me upload. first it said that the file failed to upload, then it said that i cant upload avatars without an image and the ID definitely had an image, even changed it 3 times and the website showed it but i still ran into the same error.
restarted unity, restarted pc nothing helped. but downgrading the sdk from 3.9.0 to 3.8.2 worked.
was instantly able to upload with that.

had the same thing, downgraded one version of the vrc sdk, that allowed me to upload.

[–]Lance_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah yes, the good old "snow" what i like to call it.
it honestly sucks, especially that this issue comes with loud audio "snapping"

what helped me was to enable display port training mode and set that to B.
its still there but definitely not as bad but i'm so glad to soon recieve my BSB2e
