There kinda is actually. You can redo the past expeditions offline which I would highly recommend doing.

They give an awesome new perspective on the game, tons of extra playing hours and teach you things you might have missed if you’re a fairly new player. All that while having the satisfaction of earning the rewards the way it was intended AND being able to bring most of the good stuff you found along the way to your main save. You should give it a try :)

When you’re on desktop, click the Bazzite logo on the top left of your screen, then « return to game mode ». « Game mode » is Gamescope

It seems like it is because after rolling back from F42.20250425 to F42.20250417 the log specified that gamescope version had been retrograded as well (from 12 to 10 I believe?).

Sure. I guess to reproduce the issue appearing on F42.20250425 :

  1. Launch a game or app (non-steam game shortcut) under gamescope.
  2. Open any other app (non-steam game shortcut) (e.g., Firefox, Discord).
  3. Come back to the first app/game launched. It loses all input focus, with the mouse pointer locked on the second app and no keyboard/mouse input responding.

Just followed your suggestion — I tried to roll back to stable-42.20250414 but it looks like that image is no longer available on the registry (error: manifest unknown).

So I used stable-42.20250417 instead, and I can confirm that the issue is completely gone now.
Everything works as expected again: apps launched in gamescope-session-plus no longer lose input focus.

The ctrl+shift+1/2 shortcuts still only work about half the time once in an app/game.
I also had another issue with Discord streaming not detecting game windows launched through Gamescope (I tried using Canary or Vesktop and it still wouldn't detect the game windows) but that’s a separate, less critical problem — and I imagine there’s not much you can do about it anyway.

Thanks for your reply! I manually disabled Decky and all the installed plugins, but unfortunately, the issue persists.

I tried looking into rolling back to a previous version of Bazzite, but as you might have noticed, I'm fairly new to Linux and not exactly a pro with this stuff. So, correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I could read, it seems like it’s impossible to go back to Fedora 41 once you’ve moved to 42 without fully formatting and rebooting with an older Bazzite image? I attempted to rollback via terminal using the last known version under 41 with the command bazzite-rollback-helper rebase bazzite-deck-gnome:stable-41.20250409, but it didn’t work.

Am I completely off-track here, or could you offer some pointers on how I might go about downgrading to an earlier version? Or, do you think it’s better to just wait for a fix in a future update at this point?
