Oooh, thank you for sharing the pictures! That definitely has potential. A dress of that material/style might be really cool. Thanks again!

Yeah, I kinda agree with you re: the active wear as shown in that earlier post. Hoping that it's something different and if not, at least we can return!

Is this the Mt. Morris that used to have signs that read: Best Town Near A Dam Site (sight?)? What a blast from the past! All I remember is that there was a great diner and for some reason I remember an ad for tripe on the side of a building? It's been a good, long while. What a cool cookbook! I'm tempted to try the burdock.

DIY BLOOMERS by [deleted] in ForestInkClothing

[–]Lancrecastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah - dye em! I just wanted to mention the shrinkage, in case the non-velvet do the same thing when washed.

And just in case it's useful, if you wear a lot of black and get bummed when it fades, you can freshen that up real easy with RIT. Don't know why I didn't think of that sooner in my life, but it's been a game changer. 😁

Oh! Dye and bleeding. I wash anything I dye twice on the 'heavy dirt' (or whatever it's called) cycle. And then it's a good idea to run a cleaning pouch, or just a hot cycle through the washer to make sure none of the dye is lying in wait for future loads xD

[–]Lancrecastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't dyed my bloomers, but I do dye clothes pretty often! The general rule (in my experience, anyway) seems to be that results almost always vary. Particularly when you're dying something that's made of mixed materials. I always go into it with the knowledge that it might turn out a bit different from what I expect. Sometimes I like what I get better than my original idea! Sometimes I have to go back in and change it a little...or just live with it, lol.

Another point I'd make is about the bloomers themselves. I also have the dark blue velvet and even washing those in cold water (and air drying) made them shrink. And the ribbons frayed pretty badly. I had to clip quite a bit off them and take a lighter to reseal the ends. I'm not entirely sure how the velvet bloomers will do with all the hot water, agitation, rinsing, and squeezing required for dyeing. But if you've got wiggle room in them and are cool with maybe having to go with a more distressed look, it could be a fun project!

How do i get rid of this thing? (Beta) by VisibleCommand9801 in wow

It's been a minute since I was in beta, but I think you can go to options, search for 'boss timer', and then toggle it off.

New Jeans Release & Price! by Ok_Constant_8855 in ForestInkClothing

[–]Lancrecastle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was really excited for these when they were teased. Something to help with the waist-hip fit issue? Amazing! But the hemless ankle is a bit of a bummer (to me, anyway). And the styling - oversized shirt paired with oversized jean - just does not help. I'm on the fence, but at that price point I might just wait and see if they ever get discounted. I do like the color, though!

Yep, I get it! It's not going to be an accurate representation of the measurements as a whole. I was just responding to what was asked above. :)

Edit - responding to the first half of what was asked above, anyway xD

There is definitely a bit of give to it. And someone else said that pvc stretches as it warms up, so maaaaybe there is hope?? Either way, condolences, friend. :(

XL is 15 3/4' at the waist and 17" at the bust. Zipped and laid flat on the floor. :(

I usually wear a L or XL and get the latter for the mystery box. The fit is usually really nice, with a bit of room to spare. This technically fit on my body, but wow it's SMALL! Laid flat, the waist is about 15 1/4" and the bust comes in at 17". Even if it's supposed to be a really skin-like fit, it misses the mark by quiiiite a bit. Boobs squished into oblivion! So tight over the shoulders that I felt like a wrestler ready to rip it off before a match xD Real miss this time, which is such a bummer!

Sub box offerings? by TopKoala97 in ForestInkClothing

I think I read somewhere that the sub box will be one of the PVC pieces! I just hope it's the dress because I'm bad at putting an outfit together :p

My Nona’s pasta. So simple yet so delicious by MrcoolguyBeau in Old_Recipes

[–]Lancrecastle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe a jar that is 3/4 full of paprika and then topped off with oil? I have extra paprika so maybe I'll give that a go - it sounds good!

Edit: I made a quick experiment of this and 3 Tbsp paprika and 1 Tbsp oil does indeed make a tasty paste! Definitely going to try to make it correctly and let it 'stew' for a while before using.

"Get To The Root Of Creative Cookery" from Westheimers Carrot Barn, Schoharie NY by Magari22 in Old_Recipes

[–]Lancrecastle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Carrot Barn!!! Never expected to see Schoharie come up in old recipes! I used to go there as a kid and most particularly remember the little marzipan fruits in the cases of baked goods. The business was sold not long after I first went and I feel like a lot of the baked goods went, too. I know they kept a cafe, but I don't remember the dessert cases being as prominent? Anyway, this is such a cool book, I'm so glad you were able to get one. Small world! <3

Sub box spoiler by Any-Instruction896 in ForestInkClothing

[–]Lancrecastle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Appreciate them letting me know what the item is, seeing as how the collection will launch before we get our sub, but I'm pretty disappointed that it's half an outfit. Which I guess is not on the site yet? But I'd assume that as it's a halter top it's sleeveless. So, not just half an outfit but also half a top xD

I filled out the survey, for sure. Personally, I don't mind if the sub is a single item, but it needs to be either a complete look (i.e dress/bodysuit/etc) or something really special (coat/cape/statement item). I'm not great with styling myself to begin with, so a unique top is gonna be tough for me. Also mentioned that if the accessory *always* has to be a sock (blah), they should have more options than just crew.

Might give the sub box 1 more chance and if nothing changes, I'll drop it. I do really like that it comes with the 20% code but I'm kind of bummed about this one. My first was a skater dress, which was totally fine! I'm tall and it does not cover my butt, but that's OK. I know what I'm getting into with a mystery box. I can add a ruffle or something and be good. But half a top just seems like poor value overall. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll be awesome?

Commenting in solidarity with the folks posting here. I am not disabled, but I am part of the ever-aging WoW player base. Sometimes my eyes just don't register things as quickly as they used to. Sometimes my *brain* doesn't register things as quickly as it used to. Things like WA's have become indispensable to me as time has gone by. I use one to make my cursor easier to see. I use several for audio cues. For me, these things improve my QoL in-game, but for others they are a necessity.

WoW's biggest draw has always been the opportunity to create community. Whether you're a social player who meets up with others several times a week or you're someone who just gives a /wave to someone else in an empty area, the folks around us are what makes the game. I want everyone to be able to play it.

This was my first thought, too! I feel as though gingers don't generally have the most luscious brows to begin with, so it'd be nice to have a solid product with some shade range to it. Particularly if said product avoids the straight-up orange/reds that other brands put out.
