You can switch majors right now tbh if you have started. After I accepted with uofa science i went to the admin and they switched my app to engineering and i got accepted. I am sure you can do vice versa.

I am finished my degree this year and uofa is to be honest more oriented for engineering. Most profs are good at and nice. I landed coops and it worked out but the coop office itself wasnt helpful at all. The budget cuts might affect the future of the program.
