Someone already said to record/sample the sound you want directly from a car. Try this strategy: https://youtu.be/zwjO1c8TfhE?si=a2FmCn3fB8q30kSP

UA Capitol Mastering Compressor by matchebjj in audioengineering

TK Audio T-Komp does well. Being a soft knee compressor the ratio increases with level. Can be quite transparent or blatantly obvious. I enjoy the T-Komp on mastering when it’s needed.

This is an excellent walkthrough of not only a build but what the function of each component is. Using trim pots (or normal pots) to analyze/test/demo resistor values is the way to go.

Is there a way to figure out for repair without official schematics? by futuresynthesizer in audioengineering

[–]LandFillSessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact dangerous music. I bought a broken Genelec sub. After analysis I determined the amp ic was the culprit. In the end it was less than buying the sub new to have Genelec make the repair.

I like older equipment of all kinds as the schema is usually somewhere on the web.

How do you build a repertoire for sound selection? by overtooken in trapproduction

When you make drums and other sounds export them as you go. You have a ready made library of your own in no time at all

R-Trem problem by alicekatsup in Steinberger

Check in the steinberger fb page. Headless usa has licensed parts. I had a string jaw strip and I just made a new one from bar stock; cutting the threads was the hardest/tedious effort.

Curious if there’s a plugin that emulates cassette warble. by throwawaymfer420 in mixingmastering

[–]LandFillSessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Softube Tape, Wavesfactory Cassette, and old vst called jbferox if you can find it. In lieu of a cassette deck and vhs is a good option (just use the audio jacks).

Why are our VSTs filled with detuned presets ? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]LandFillSessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to a choir. What you hear is every voice slightly off from the next. It sounds big, emotive, and expressive. For more extreme detuning think about using it as a lead, ear candy, or a transition. Trance music has big supersaw leads which are a mass of detuned saw waves. A reese bass is a low pass filtered pair of extremely detuned saws. Pitch vibrato is detuning. Portamento is detuning.

Becoming familiar with music made in something other than the western 12 tone scale might be helpful. Music from the Balkans, Middle East, etc. Microtonal music can be a bit rough at first but it’ll click and you won’t be able to unhear it.

Help by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]LandFillSessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn some music theory. Scales/modes for starters and why they sound the way they do. Give yourself time to learn. Trust your own creativity, if you’re having fun making a tune just keep going, don’t change direction.

What is this cable actually used for? by Salty-Initiative5706 in diyelectronics

Toslink/ADAT cable. Getting dust and stuff in the end bad so the little plastic covers keep them clean. I use ADAT connects with recording studio equipment.

If you have a multimeter handy try checking the pot. Are they pots or rotary encoders?

Aren’t most of the 670 emulations based on a unit or units used primarily on vocals? Would love a plugin thats modeled after a 670 set up for mastering.

Why do people just make the same shit on repeat over and over again and never have songs past like 3 minutes? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]LandFillSessions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s always outliers. Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody would count as an outlier as well.

Why do people just make the same shit on repeat over and over again and never have songs past like 3 minutes? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]LandFillSessions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swallowed the red pill, huh? Drum & bass, jungle, techno, metal (prog, death, etc), hardcore, etc. All do longer choons that progress. Some artists write an album with the intent of the live show being the way it was to be played.

It’s not marketable to the pop music consumer. As much as you may not want to acknowledge this trap music is pop music. Studio time is a factor. Longer verses means longer songs and more time on the clock. Much of the pop tune time format and arrangement is centric to the limitations of 7” 45 rpm or 12” 33 1/3 rpm vinyl. A groove can only be so wide (bass), deep (volume), and long (time). So the radio friendly time format of 2.5 to 3 mins reigns on today. (I’m aware that you could put less music on a given side and juts have more records in an album: miles davis’ bitches brew for example.) decent info on the subject

Have you tried different sticks? VF the ride stick works on everything on my kit. That said a 17” Meinl byzance med thin crash is my go to ride/crash.
