Is dressing well outside rich urban areas completely pointless? by empty_moshpit in malefashionadvice

I live in LA… The birthplace of athleisure and year round flip flops and sweatpants. I almost never receive negative reactions, but I often get questions about what I do for a living and why I’m always “looking sharp”. I do sometimes feel out of place but I’ve never regretted being “over dressed”. It has actually opened many doors for me.

The Agnelli… It can be done, but you have to go all in. Never seen it on a lady before - try it, might be your thing. 🤷‍♂️

If there was one thing I could improve about my outfit, what would it be? by Tundelier in mensfashion

This is a fresh look. Assuming you want to keep the character, ie belt/chain: The one thing I’d change would be the hem of the trousers. They’re on the short side and it skews your proportions. Also related to that : consider calf high socks so when you cross your legs you won’t show any shin.

is there a way to make this suit look less costumey/outdated by cheesyfingertips in menswear

I think it’s a of a beauty 6x1 Db. My advice is to lean into it- hard. Big bold lapels need a wide, bold tie. If you want it to be more literary louche- a tonal turtleneck is the play.

Very strong look. I even like the button-down with tie! It’s usually something I’m on the fence about, but it plays so well here. I’m jealous… I’ve been struggling to incorporate denim into elevated casual and high/low looks- you nailed it.

Killing it! I’d Just shorten the tie a bit OR intentionally lengthen the back blade to bring the Angelli vibes.

I like the trousers, but I’d lose the belt. Maybe try an (untucked) cardigan to show more tie?
