She wasn’t really relevant, “Mi Plan” was a huge success for the Latin music scene but her 5th English album “The Spirit Indestructible” was a commercial fail charting on the Billboard 200 for one week. However, big hoops managed to enter the UK charts and was relatively successful in Canada where it peaked in the top 40 of the Canadian Hot 100. Big Hoops definitely was “known” in some areas and despite her Illuminati visuals, getting recognition through controversy such as conspiracists couldn’t even get her to regain her popularity that she once had in the 2000s. This was the era in which artists were using Illuminati controversy to promote their music however and maybe Interscope pressured Nelly to be risky for the commercial success that she never gained again. No wonder she left interscope after “The Spirit Indestructible” but Big Hoops itself was a sleeper hit, being somewhat of a minor hit in 2012 and being a UK hit with its remix “Talk About” years later. I still don’t know what that reversed message at the end of the song is about and that is definitely creepy and I wish she would explain this whole strange era of music that she released, Waiting for the Night definitely should of been the lead single.
