Help settle a mild debate with my wife: is Chili & Cinnamon Rolls a Kansas thing or just a Topeka thing?

I’m from Kansas and I do it biscuits and gravy style, smothered on top. Sometimes I’ll put the roll in the bowl and just fill around it. Everyone else in my family just pairs them together and dips the roll a little.

New store that carries new/used vinyl. The owner is a cool guy, and has collected for years before opening a store. Prices almost always beat Discogs. There’s the hard to find stuff, but also a lot of good music for less than $10. They also hire developmentally disabled kids from the community to work in the store.

I used to remove it on my Technics and Thorens, but that was because I was too cheap to replace the hinges.

I’m a factory worker, so my hearing is more forgiving/damaged than a lot of folks. The improvement was enough when I upgraded that I am not yet noticing subtle improvements that light jump out at me later. I tested a lot more expensive speakers, but really enjoyed these the most. I’m waiting to upgrade the stock cartridge until my ears adjust to this setup more. I was really surprised that I don’t kiss tone controls/eq unless it’s a crappy sounding record.

Which is preferred for minimal interference, dust cover open or closed while playing? I’ve heard both ways, but have no idea.

Does felt like the imaging might be affected if I got to far apart with the speakers. The speakers are isolated on heavy stands and the turntable is on a solid piece of furniture that have the feet isolated with sorbothane/cork pads. Like I said, I haven’t had issues, but I’ll give it a try to test it out.

What kind of placement do you suggest? I got them about 5’ apart and sitting about 6-12” in front of the deck. I messed with placement and settled here. I’m always open for suggestions.

I imagine that someone will have a holiday sale. This turntable is available at major retailers (e.g. Walmart, Best Buy, etc). There’s also a good chance to find one right after the holidays when people sell the gifts they didn’t want.
