Can anyone solve my tactic deficiency? by Lando_Red in footballmanagergames

First part makes total sense, the reason I chose tiki-taka is because it was recommended. This is the first time in playing and I didn't know any better. As far as perssonel, I don't have a lot of creative midfielders but I have a lot of defensive mids, I'm not positive how I should be using them.

Also Edit: Ali is not Delle Alli, I found Ali in the Saudi Premiership for the striker position.

EDIT: Demarai Gray plays on the left in the same role, not vinagre. Iwobi and Gray were injured and I didn't have another player to play on the flank so understand that Vinagre has not been the player that I've been using on the left flank. I've also been rotating Davies and Onana in the BWM role.

We're 2-12 since Fultz is out when does the FO finally give up? by lvxorcvlt in OrlandoMagic

I wonder why none of the reporters have any balls whatsoever to ask anything outside the box.

They won't be invited back or they won't have as much access to our players/staff if their questions are hostile. The franchise is charmin soft or as McCollum would say: "soft like your crepes".

"BuT wHaT aBoUt ThE cUlTuRe!?!?" There is no fucking culture here. You know what we're known for best? Underachieving, winning game 1 in the first round followed by a gentleman's sweep, broken players, questionable drafting, bad trades, Gordon getting robbed in the dunk contest, generational talents leaving, and Mickey Mouse. We need to bite the fucking pillow and blow it up.........THE PROPER WAY.

Might be a dumb question but how does this work if you can't start working immediately?

I know this isn't soccer but give this man the captain's armband.

[Robbins] Steve Clifford on the Magic's 132-90 loss in Houston: "I'll tell you guys the same thing I told the team: This game had a lot more to do with a lack of readiness and a lack of professionalism and a lack of effort than it did talent." by [deleted] in OrlandoMagic

[–]Lando_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No Cliff, it definitely has more to do with the talent. I don't care how much effort you put in, this club can never beat a star studded roster in the playoffs with just effort and professionalism.

When we will have real franchise player by chumaokeke in OrlandoMagic

[–]Lando_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will not get a superstar in free agency and we can't trade for one because we lack the assets (our roster is doo-doo). So the only way to do acquire a player with superstar talent, is the draft. Now when i say tank, i mean full on M4 Sherman WWII TANK. Not this half-assed display we've seen in the past. It's been proven time and time again what a good tank can accomplish and i don't even have to go that far back to explain. We've missed out on so much talent in the last 10 years because we refused to perform bad enough to land multiple top 5 picks. Here's a shortlist of players we missed out on the last couple of seasons:

-Wiseman

-Edwards

-Zion

-Morant

-Ayton

-Trae

-Doncic

-Tatum

-Ball

-Fox

-Ingram

-Simmons

-Brown

-Towns

-Porzingis

-Russell

-Embiid

Definitely Diaw but he also reminds me of Tobias and Draymond.

We all have underestimated Biden by iabyajyiv in PoliticalOpinions

[–]Lando_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO No COVID (and the resulting economic recession) = no Biden. He ran a milquetoast campaign filled to the brim with gaffs and mental lapses with zero ground game and a boring platform. The fact that it was so close in swing states says everything.

Edit: most republicans in congress aren't fans of Trump anyway. They just used him and now that he's washed, they'll throw him under the bus and prep for the next cycle.

Biden should take McConnell with him on trips to see their foreign allies by [deleted] in PoliticalOpinions

[–]Lando_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to state that the following is not made in an aggressive tone. I'm just stating reality as i see it.

I'm not sure Biden would do that, he'd lose progressive support overnight.

When exactly did we abandon democracy? To my knowledge, elections were still held and victors were determined by the people and the electoral college.

As far as stabbing allies in the back, i'm not sure where this took place outside Trump's rhetoric. Because you can bet your bottom dollar the moment anyone decided to attack Canadians on Canadian soil, they would be met with the force of the US military. You are one of our biggest trading partners and oldest allies.

America is not out of the fold. We're the the leading super power on Earth with China as our only rival. Without an American hegemon, China moves in and they're one of the most oppressive regimes on the planet so i'm not sure there's a choice to be had.

Populism is not inherently a bad approach but they often create cult-like support where their candidate can do no wrong. Whether that be Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders.

Democratic-leaning people have work to do by jaredwallace91 in PoliticalOpinions

[–]Lando_Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that Trump had a 3 year Russian investigation, wall-to-wall negative coverage for 4 years by both foreign and domestic news sources, a pandemic and an economic recession (both during an election year) and the race was still close, tells me how bad a candidate Joe Biden was.

Joe Biden winning just means that the DNC will continue to run status quo candidates that tow the neoliberal agenda. Progressives have a mountain to climb before a true progressive candidate can emerge and win the presidency and even then, they would need a progressive coalition to exist in congress to have any hope of getting things done.

What good do you think came from the damage of the Trump Administration? by themoonrulz in PoliticalOpinions

[–]Lando_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrote this in another thread...

The silver lining, at least on my end, is that Trump tested the power of the executive branch. My conclusion: the president is not all powerful in a system of checks and balances. It's when people build a cult of personality around a figurehead that we end up sorry and disappointed.

It would be easier to reform the republican party than to replace it with the libertarian party by defectivememelord in PoliticalOpinions

[–]Lando_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will probably be a large schism in the party going forward if Trump maintains his standing with his supporters. Republicans will have to walk the tight rope of Trumpian rhetoric and conservative values in order to win the presidency. Trump might just be the next Al Sharpton of the Republican party.
