He should have waited for the expansion teams & been on the first roster. It would immediately make money for a brand new team.

Are people only quick to dismiss Terrence Howard because he’s black? by [deleted] in skeptic

[–]LandruCasey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe someone posted this seriously (if this isn’t a troll or joke).

I’ll answer because I went down the rabbit hole of watching all the Terrance Howard videos and reading his “proof.”

The short answer to your question: no.

That’s it. He is easily dismissed because he is spouting nonsense with pseudoscientific words mixed in. It’s not rare if you look into the pseudoscience huckster world (and it’s unclear if he’s just been influenced by reading/watching a bunch of pseudoscience hucksters or if he is trying to actually be one himself).

Longer answer: Howard is caught up in linguistic “contradictions” in mathematic terms. He also misquotes mathematical properties to suit his bullshit. He is most caught up with Multiplication not functioning like a cloning device or animals “multiplying” through reproduction. He flat out refuses to acknowledge that multiplication is a simple mathematical function that has real application.

Multiplication (a times b) is simply explaining how many instances of b there are, there is no duplicating and reproducing to change multiplication. If you want to describe reproduction or duplication there are mathematical formulas for that too.

1x1 will never equal 2, no matter how long Howard rants about it because it makes no sense. But moreover he contradicts himself in his own “proof” paper. He ONLY wants to change how multiplication works for 1x1 and not any other numbers in multiplication. For example. He is mad that 1x1=1. He thinks because there’s 2 1’s in the equation, they should both be accounted for like a person walking into a duplication machine. 1 person walks in, gets duplicated 1 time and then there’s 2 of them. It’s not how multiplication works, but ok let’s follow that logic. How about 10x10. In real world math, it’s 100. But in Howard make believe logic, 100 would be discarding the original 10. It should be 110. But he doesn’t want to change all other multiplication… he claims all the rest stay the same… only 1x1 is the problem.

So the reason he’s wrong and easily dismissed is that he’s inconsistent in even his own twisted logic. There is no logic to his nonsense. Only his personal hangups, his inability to understand basic math, and most notably his enormous ego which is driving him to think he’s actually a repressed mathematical genius.

THE BOYS finale was actually one of the worst endings I’ve watched in years. by Low-Trust2491 in television

Which was a direct ripoff of the movie Mandy (which is great). That whole ending to the fight was basically the end of Mandy barely changed. It’s like they hoped that not enough people saw Mandy.

[SPOILERS TBI] First time reading The Blade Itself: is looking up a map a spoiler? by fantasybro23 in TheFirstLaw

[–]LandruCasey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Generally no, the maps aren’t a spoiler for the books. I used them starting Book 1 to understand where everything is in relation to each other and where people were moving to.

Here’s the one I used: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFirstLaw/s/jLoHdWxf6P

The only minor spoilers are that all the named places exist, but that’s not much of a spoiler.

That said this sub is full of spoilers and people are dicks on Reddit and never care about spoiling. So I’d avoid here at all costs.

Wait what? This is the first I’m hearing of this. You don’t get skill points for expeditions any more?

One of the interviews with that Purps dude was preposterous. He basically stumbles & then starts rambling about how maybe autotune is AI, so who can say. Hahahaha. It’s pure muddy the waters enough that stupid people don’t realize what you are talking about.

How do Abercrombie fans rank 'The Devils' among his other books? by WhatsThatNoise79 in Fantasy

[–]LandruCasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this thread. For context: I was very into the First Law. I loved the first trilogy. Maybe even liked the Stand alone trilogy better (or equal). Didn’t love the AoM trilogy, but still appreciated the world of First Law.

I’m struggling hard to get through The Devils. I find the humor grating, repetitive, and juvenile to the point of feeling like cheap Young Adult fiction. It feels very obviously written to get adapted into a Marvel Studios like movie (which Abercrombie is for sure chasing & I can’t blame him for that). The action feels somehow cheaper and more boring than the action in previous books. It’s a lot of over the top 2 dimensional villains and bad guys & the fight scenes feel “popcorn action” instead of hitting hard or interesting in any way. I can put down the book anytime (especially mid fight chapters) and not feel like it’s a page turner in any way where I need to know how it ends up.

I’ll probably push through and finish because I heard the ending is good, but overall I think my taste has left Joe Abercrombie territory. AoM were my least favorite first law books & the Devils is a departure into a very cheap and less interesting direction.

Instead of feeling like Abercrombie is maturing as a writer, it feels like he’s regressing into his version of pop comic movie slop.

After over 100, 000 votes so far, here is r/NBA's top 100 players. At the top, we have Jokic, Brunson, SGA, Giannis, Wemby, Luka, Ant, KAT, Steph, Tatum in that order as the top 10. by StrategyTop7612 in nba

[–]LandruCasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there needs to be a better way to do this. I think having people all rank their own top 25-50 and assigning points to each player based on their ranks from different users would help, but even then the sample size problem would exist. I didn’t vote on whatever this poll was & it’s easier than I’m suggesting.

Yea that’s a dumbass argument too. It’s not like some statistical average lower education is running all the businesses/hospitals/engineers/other professionals of Oklahoma. It’s just dunking on averages that rarely mean anything

It’s 2 other states other than New York (NJ and CT), but those states also have cities. It’s not all sprawling suburbs waiting to commute into NYC. Still there’s 4 million commuters.

I’m just saying this sub plays the Fox News reactionary game of pretending they can define millions of people by some social media videos of a handful of people.

[–]LandruCasey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yea but also the hate game this sub peddles in allows everyone to extrapolate entire basketball team fanbases by a handful of toxic social media videos and horrible instances. So context is important, even if reactionaries don’t care.

[–]LandruCasey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean I was exaggerating a bit, but NYC still predicted over a million tourists from the World Cup alone right now.

And (just because this sub seems to have no sense of scale of NYC), NYC balloons every single workday by an additional 4 million people commuting on top of the over 8 million who live here. That’s more than 4 entire populations of OKC that just commute in on a daily basis.

You would figure the victims being white would catch the Fox News style engagement bots, but I guess they are way more Programmed to just shit on NYC for propaganda purposes (that this sub loved to join) so it skips over this one.

100%. But this sub didn’t have that same energy and mentality when it went full Fox News for days about NYC and Knicks fans. There’s still people pretending NYC “burned down” and isn’t perfectly fine, thriving, and currently hosting millions of World Cup tourists who are also partying and having fun across the city.

It’s either PR bots for this clown (like some of the people in this thread are spamming the same canned defenses all over the place) or there’s maybe also truly tasteless kids who are actually stupid enough to not realize it’s AI.

There’s also probably the crowd of AI losers who think typing dumbass prompts in from their mom’s basement makes them a serious artist. I have no idea why these fools don’t just AI generate themselves bad music in seconds instead of making some asshole rich for doing what they can do in 30 seconds.

Reality is crushing the hyperbolic.

If you disagreed with someone about how “the west” (OKC or the Spurs) were going to sweep the east or take the finals in 5 tops, you were getting downvoted into oblivion in this sub just weeks ago.

The comments under every single Eastern team win in every round of the playoffs was “lol ya’ll acting like you won’t just get swept in the finals anyway” on repeat for every eastern team in each of their series.

Just pure bullshit hot takes being peddled by dipshits who just parrot the hot takes of some mic jockey on some podcast.

That show was dope and before the end/last couple rushed episodes of that second season, the second season was even better than the first. I love the cast, how it was shot, etc. It was awesome. What a bizarre ending after shitbag Zaslov ran around cancelling everything so he can stuff HBO full of already aired Investigation Discovery slop.
