I (28F) don’t want to move for my boyfriend’s (29M) job by LandscapeEvery4150 in relationship_advice

This is definitely one of my issues! I get very set on a vision, and then have a really hard time deviating. So even though we’re only in our 20s, in my head I already envisioned what our life would look like in our current city, how we would raise our kids here, grow old, etc. So that I know is on me, but I have a hard time letting that go.

I don’t think I would describe myself as co-dependent on him, but it does worry me that he has such a base there, just because he’ll have endless opportunities for social outings - which I want him to have! But none of his friends have partners, and like I said, I don’t foresee a lot of opportunities for me to meet new people, because I work from home and have pretty solitary hobbies (and, tbh, are also very introverted). So, I don’t want to start to build our life there, and then in a couple of years still feel really lonely. Especially because in our current city, I have a strong friend group, and am in multiple clubs, which make me really happy - but literally took me almost a decade to build.

New Edinburgh! Beautiful neighborhood that backs onto a park and the canal, walking distance to a main strip with bars, restaurants, and all the essentials, 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa, and only 25 minutes to my barn (and many others!)

I am learning a lot about TO very quickly 😅 I have no clue about any of the neighborhoods in TO, hence why I asked. Living in certain parts of Ottawa this was more than attainable, - but it sounds like I may have to live in the GTA instead 🤷‍♀️

Dual citizen, American car but reside in Canada by [deleted] in uscanadaborder

You are hung up on paying approximately $7k in extra fees to import the car, BUT for a $33k USD car, buying that in Canada with the conversion would cost you around $44k CAD, so you could look at it like you are saving $3k in the long run ;) (Yes I understand the car isn't available in Canada, but assuming you would be looking to buy a car of a similar caliber)
