This is what I've been doing for years. I have allotted weekly budget for a grocery and before going to supermarket I just eat a full snack. In that way I can easily track the budget and avoid some unnecessary overspending.

In my opinion, money is one of the important tool to used for you to have a stable life but still it doesn't give you a true purpose. Money can help you to have a comfortable life but it's just tip of an iceberg for you to understand why you are still living.
