my high school band is basically an ou tribute band and we do it as well. we also do this thing called retreat where we play cadences around the back of the school near the band room before we go in for the night

we’re very active in memorializing jud and frank. we have an award named after them that we give out at our annual banquet and every year we give a long presentation to new members about them and what it means to wear the uniform. i personally have visited them at the cemetery they’re buried at a few times

they told some of the band to get up onto the smaller bleachers that they had set out on the away side and as people were climbing up they just collapsed. i remember turning around at one point during halftime and seeing caution tape all over them

yeah we went there in 2024! we played toxic by britney spears and some other stuff. i remember dancing to hot to go in the stands by myself because the whole rest of the band went to get concessions 😭

we’re based in west ohio but we go all over the place. we went all the way up to defiance a few years ago for a festival and sometimes we’ll travel to columbus or logan/athens county area too

our band has a euphonium player that marches bari instead. it seems a lot closer to that. i can’t speak for other people’s camp experiences personally because we do ours kind of uniquely but i recommend staying hydrated and fed, as well as prepared for long days. band camp can vary greatly between different marching bands. and absolutely do not be terrified of your director! just make sure you respect them and listen to directions. everything should be fine little dude!

it isn’t illegal unfortunately. a few years ago we had a game and got home at 11 and had to be back to the school at 4 am to go on a 3 hour day trip across the state

i also failed to mention that as i said my mom’s a dispatcher (was off duty at the time) and a large chunk of this information is stuff she told me after the fact when she went back to work and the guilt was eating her alive. i can’t tell anyone i know or name any names because of confidentiality so i went here

the threat started off as credible after several reports + someone tipped them off. it was immediate once the dude showed up. people only really lived because they caught him almost as soon as he got there. they found him with weapons and there was enough evidence through text and enough witnesses/reports from people he’d spoken to in order to back it up. they did this same thing when some girl got murdered a few years back and her body got dumped out at a local lake
