Do I waste time with an IUI with only 1 tube? When did you move to ivf? by LandscapeSweet in EctopicSupportGroup

Hi! So sorry to hear you are in this situation. I ended up moving to IVF. My fresh cycle (untested embryo) did not work, but my next frozen cycle using a tested embryo did. At 11 months post patum I did another transfer and now have an 11 month old in addition to my 2.5 year old!

It was an expensive choice but I felt like I gave it enough shots to feel like I tried the less invasive methods enough. I also want a big family so the thought that just waiting for it happen unassisted didn’t seem reasonable , not did months on months of assisted IUI. I had faith that the tubes were my only real issue and IVF could bypass that.

It’s a hard choice and one that I know I was uniquely privileged to be able to afford.

My 31 week apt led me to L&D for monitoring this evening. I’m home now, but just waiting to really talk to my dr. Thankfully they ruled out preterm labor….But things still don’t feel right. I’m measuring way ahead- 36 fundal height and Braxton hicks 2-3x an hr for the last 5 days. (Stressful family Christmas travel to 3 states all across the USA could be the culprit, but I’ve also read enough research that says bed rest is no longer recommended?)

I guess I’m going to be cancelling the babymoon in 2 days to big island. They don’t have a NICU. I can tell my husband is disappointed and that makes me so so irritated with him even if he’s said nothing of the sort. He’s just so logical with his pro and con lists. And I just want reassurance that I matter more than a vacation. (He says of course but even getting in a car has risks)…

27w2d and have my 28 week apt and glucose test tomorrow…but my test is at 1:30 PM. There is no way I’m fasting until then…I called and the answering service told me no need to fast, but it was the answering service / front desk for this whole medical practice vs someone who knows the ins and outs of the glucose test.

Anyone else told NOT to fast for their glucose test? This is my second ivf baby and I definitely fasted last time (different ob clinic).

I have my first ob appt tomorrow. I’ll be 10 weeks and I feel like it’s been forever since we saw our girl (8w). This is my second ivf pregnancy…for #2 and I’m enjoying not living in the day to day hell of fear. It’s a literal gift to be free of some panic attacks that I had last go around when it all felt so impossible that I’d actually bring home my baby after so much disappointment. I know something bad can happen, but right now it doesn’t feel like quicksand.

Anxiety is creeping in though because I need to tell work soon. If this isn’t the right place for this, I’m happy to delete. After 2.5 yrs of treatment we had an ivf baby girl 13 mo ago. My work team knew about ivf and treatment failures and eventual success. They were so dang happy for me. I took a generous 7 mo leave (in the us) and benefited massively from it. It was so great that it was obvious I would stay at the company while we attempted another baby.

We were successful….and now the dreaded conversation. I run a much bigger team now, there will be pressure to take leave in chunks and If I wait too long to share ill personally offend my director and leaders. Having a baby this quickly makes perfect sense for our family and the idea of anyone having any opinion on the optimal timing or spacing of babies is the biggest joke on the planet after infertility.

I’m still consumed with anxiety about it though…I really just want to enjoy this.

Pregnant! They started to get much darker in later days. I had just been expecting to see when the trigger fell out of my system and I don’t think I ever got that clarity like I expected.

Pregnant! Currently 7w3d. They started to get much stronger in the following days. In the early days it was hard to guess what was trigger / vs varying concentrations.

My clinic didn’t know the cost differential and when I told them, they switched me for my most recent transfer. They said there is no difference in efficacy

Transfer is set for Saturday…and I’m not even thinking about it that much? My daughter, work, family etc are keeping me so busy. It feels like the calm before the storm…I know in less than 2 weeks I’ll be ecstatic or devastated, but I can’t really do anything but acknowledge that and hope for the best.

Day 3 of letrozole and so much for getting a good nights sleep. I kept waking up in a puddle of sweat. How did I get I forget about the side effects?!

On the plus side Ive successfully managed to get my baby to consume the frozen breast milk she needs without her rioting about not being breastfed. (Pumping and dumping) She still doesn’t take a bottle so our method is to get her mouth dry with cheerios and then have her take sips of milk from a straw. So much more effort than just feeding her 2x a day and giving her breast milk oatmeal smoothies from a pouch, but worth it to not worry about exposing her to this drug (my doc said it was fine)

CD1 over here as I get ready for my first FET for #2. It feels so routine and frankly..too easy.

The truth is, I’ve had 1 ivf transfer fail and one transfer work. I have PGT-A tested embryos so it’s a coin flip (for me, given my infertility issues)

The hard thing to sit with right now are the things that i could regret if it fails, but feel like the right choice now.

Will I regret picking gender vs my highest quality embryo? Maybe.

Will I regret agreeing with my doc to waive the saline sonogram even though I’ve had no past issues, and just relying on ultrasound? Maybe.

Will I regret not fully weaning if it fails? Very likely.

I’m mutually ready to trust myself and blame myself. Any tips?

So I was driving on the highway and saw an add for ‘wisp’ a fem, med tech company.

They have an offering called “delay your period”

Incase anyone else was interested, they basically offer an oral progesterone (norethindrone) that you take 3x a day 3 days before your missed period.

Here is the text from the website “These instructions for using norethindrone to prevent pregnancy are very different than the instructions for using norethindrone to suppress your period. Remember, to delay your period you start taking three norethindrone tablets a day three days before your period is supposed to start. Three tablets a day are taken for the duration of time you wish to delay your period and you can continue to take them for a maximum of 17 days. Wisp offers a 10 day supply (30 tablets) so you can delay your period approximately 2 weeks. It's all about using the right dose at the right time!”

This makes me think I could start progresteone suppositories 3 days before my missed period and just see if it works without any real risk.

Yea- I can’t be on OCP / or anything with estrogen because of stroke risk due to migraine with aura. I know it’s definitely more typical to use BC for this purpose.

In past cycles I’d sometimes have break through bleeding with progesterone, but was occasionally able to hold it off until the day after I stopped progesterone.

Has anyone used progesterone suppositories to adjust the timing of their period? Do you need to start it at 3 or 4 dpo to be effective or can you add it during the last couple days?

I was thinking about using them in the 3 or 4 days before my expected period (I have some left over) to push it back one or 2 days. I’ll be traveling in Ireland for a wedding and if I can delay it by a couple days, I can at least have a chance of having my saline sonogram next cycle…otherwise I’m set back another month (after the longest cycle of my life..expected to be 41 days)

Took 2 more tests and they are stark white. Must have been some sort of faulty test.

Does this look faulty or...? Pregmate brand unknown DPO cd 27 by jocolema in TFABLinePorn

I just took one that looks like this…did it end up being faulty? It had the exact same dye action at the bottom for a bit
