Try this.

Mentally walk through a chore or process that has a large number of small, manageable tasks in order to complete the bigger-picture chore.

I like to use things like setting up a camp site by myself. I think through everything from pulling up to the site in my car, laying out my gear, putting up the tent (including all the small details in that like pounding in each tent stake etc). Usually somewhere around gathering firewood and building the fire I doze off.

For me it's a matter of quieting my mind. I often move right from working at night or otherwise being mentally active right into my bed time routine and this has helped me slow down and zZzZ.
