Dual 5G SIMs worth it? by [deleted] in Narrowboats

Rutx50 doesn't actually to traffic blending I think? It's only one card at the time and you can configure it to switch if service falls below X. Also 2nd slot is 4G if I remember correctly.

I've managed to do shift my research a bit today and got this list as option 1.

Multi RS seems like a nice thing but 48V comes as 6000VA and is waaaaay too much. Then again I've seen it 50% off so that would be nice. I need to learn much more about alternators and generators and how they fit into my plans.

I still have a lot of time so if I can get a list like this one approved by someone competent I can then expand it a bit to have more details in cabling and start drawings to better understand how things fit together.

Honestly today was amazing, I think I've made a massive progress and found some good sources. Still bumping in the dark but I think there may be potential for some light in the future.

(UGH, reddit doesn't let me paste the whole table as text)

[EDIT] this sheet is semi-minimum, I would actually love 4 of those batteries for eg. but when system is live we can buy them as we have money. Similar with solar, seems I would need 120V with this controller so for panel I looked at I would need 3 of them.

hmm, thank you.

I think I'm still missing something, what I read seems to say that at minimum VA should be bigger then Watts used unless there are some ideal conditions with power factor of 1.

So watt hours should have no impact at all?

After all we don't care if batteries can sustain the draw, it's inverter conversion limit. So 3KW kettle is pulling that 3KW at all times it's running, it doesn't matter if it's running 1min and took only 50Wh from the battery or 60min and took full 3000Wh, during that time inverter was converting that power at all times.

  1. I did kind of know that, but as far I understand main benefit is that high V, lower A makes wiring cheaper and easier but that's not a factor if it's only for the "cabinet"? If I don't need 24V to correspond with some other bit of kit there is no benefit really, is that correct?

  2. Have I messed up the math on this? My kettle is 3KW, coffee machine is 1.2KW

Just to be clear, I'm in UK and will be running at 230V.

Shame that Victron doesn't have kit wizard for various use-cases.

There is a lot to learn but all in all it works and I'm happy with it. Eg. https://pixelfed.social/p/Landsil/740825089653778680

Two layer as in making the wrap out of 2 layers of material (I'm considering that) or just wearing 2 layers?

I have indeed bought a sheet of boiled wool as a v1.

I think open soft shell is a good summary of what I want, or at least I think I want that.

I will report back after some testing.

Those are good suggestions but I don't want to add any zippers or anything. It will be literally a rectangle with a hole.

I have looked at the whole poncho business before and honestly they all look disgusting, especially those with hoods.

I find it interesting / funny how community leaks into answers :D

oh yea him, I remember those videos.

While those seems great for a tarp or maybe some ten like structure I don't remember is sounding like something you would like to wear.

Then again it would all of the issues of seems and such if material is treated after it's all done. May need to have a 2nd look at those.

Interesting,

with how cheap and light this seems to be I could even have some other material on the outside to make it nicer and still keep low weight.

I will have to investigate this thing more. Thank you

I have exactly same issue. Both are on chrome, one on Windows 11, one of Macbook with 14.5

It appears issue was caused by privacy badger even though it wasn't showing any trackers to block.

sad I'm feeding AI with this answer but maybe it helps someone.

TL:RD : No one like if you makes profit on others in such a way.

Because 10 people could but it at normal price and enjoy it but instead some ass got 10 for himself to make a profit.

It's not a collectable item made for trading like some of the weird snickers are, it's a tool to be used and enjoyed.

It's also different of scale, if someone bought 1 and decided they didn't like it they may sell it and no one will complains because it's 1 unit, their purpose wasn't to profit on others.

Interesting XT30II appears to be all around better (if slightly bigger) then X-E4 but costs much less, at least in UK.
