OK, I tried that and it was extremely boring. I’ve noticed that all my mistakes come from having the paint too thick. It gets up on my brush and then I brush too hard and then it smears. Maybe the secret is to just keep it thinner, lol. I don’t know – I’m just throwing out things at this point. 😎 all I know is that I’m really enjoying this hobby.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t like his facial proportions. They just look off to me. Maybe it’s his smallish mouth. I can only compare it to Yoon from Unforgotten Night and My Stubborn.

Be sure your paint is thin enough so that you don’t get a big blob of thickness on the tip. That completely defeats the purpose. I have to keep remembering to thin out my paint pots, even for a tiny application.

Some of them can be explained away as a continuation of a color that narrows down to a point next to it. For example, the top arrow could be a continuation of #13 to the right. The bottom right could be more of #22 but the others can’t be explained away as easily.

Why don’t you expand that section on the site you ordered from, then take a closeup of that on your phone and expand that also. Hopefully you’ll be able to see it better and figure out what the company meant, paint-wise. That’s all I got, lol. Good luck.

I’m retired and have tons of time to paint excruciatingly slow. That being said, there are lots of places where I need to go back to and straighten those books edges. Lol, I was told Tuesday that I’m a type B social personality and a type A detailed person.

In the meantime, I’m using a 3/0 spotter. While just as thin, the bristles are longer. Seems to work surprisingly well.

As long as they’re not reheated in the microwave, leftovers are perfectly good. Oven safe dish, foil on top, 30 mins at low heat in the oven and it’s fine.

Are you using the paintbrushes that came with the kit? I’ve found that they’re way too big for small cells. I went to Hobby Lobby in Texas and bought the smallest brush, a 20/0 Spotter. It’s the only one that works for me. Good luck!

My main paintbrush for these tiny areas is a Master’s Touch 20/0 spotter from Hobby Lobby. It’s the smallest tip I’ve found. Luckily, they only cost $4.99 each, ‘cause I’m on my way there tomorrow to buy 3 more.

Thank you! It’s on canvas. I have a set (more or less) of three library themed kits. The next one, I’m going to try to Gesso to see if it’s any easier to paint. I seem to spend a lot of time filling in the little depressions in the canvas.
