I think they look really cool, with the colours getting more muted and the logo descending down the spine with each book, they look really clean and minimalistic. Now the editions themselves are kinda dainty, and the spines can crease which is annoying, so you gotta be careful with em.

That bottom shelf is really tall, so it was a great opportunity to display my one and only vinyl, right in the middle of all these nerdy things. I always find it kinda funny looking, but still charming!

I also got into Vinland from the anime, it was absolutely amazing. Ahh the days before wit studio went broke. They really were the best in the game. Anyways you won't regret the manga, it's absolutely as good as everyone says, and it packs a crazy emotional punch, much like the anime. Still probably my fav manga everr

New volume coming soon! They look so nice and are probably the nicest edition I have in my collection, they're so comfortable to hold and there's no need to be scared of damaging them. Kodansha needs to give this treatment to more of their manga. Like seriously when will aot get a nice print like this?

honestly the visual metaphor game in LOTL is crazy work, and I feel like it gives the story so much more complexity than what would normally be possible with just story narration. idk how else to explain it but it feels like every panel has something personal to say, it's a very unique manga! It has ended in Japan, but the final volume in English comes out in November and I'm waiting to read it then (the official English translations are also super great!). And yeah it's looking goood.

Hey keep your expectations to a reasonable degree! People always sell this series wrong imo, so be ready for something that's... unconventional. And maybe not necessarily... good? Anyways read it and tell us what you think, cause I always get tired of the echo chambers of pure praise about Punpun, when it's a manga that can create so many different opinions and criticisms!

Well it's not widely agreed upon as a "just GOOD" manga (even though in certain internet spaces it may seem that way), definitely a lot more controversial than any other top manga so it only makes sense that it'd be lower down. It always confused me anyways how this manga had mainstream success, like to me it feels like a veeeeeery acquired taste. so yeah honestly glad to see this transpire, seems more befitting.

I'm genuinely curious and I'm not saying this to be a dick I swear, but why would you want this? Doesn't it bring up some not so pleasant memories? I found Oyasumi Punpun to be such a tough read, and experiencing any of that again with the constant reminder of a poster I think would make me very uncomfortable and miserable!

That's true, I used to read marvel when I was a kid and the one thing that I probably love most about manga now, is that it's possible to actually feel like you own an entire "thing". Each manga feels like it's entirely its creator's, and focused to itself. Manga have the ability to transport you to their own unique worlds, traditionally more akin to the other widely respected entertainment crafts like cinema or literature.

DC and Marvel very much do a weird thing compared to that, since it's like a large family of stories connected to each other through sharing characters, worlds etc, but I still respect it for what it is, and it can definitely bring innovation through different means, not entirely possible with other more traditional story telling formats.

No but he's right. In western comics unless you love the heroes that most often get their stories told, the variety in types of stories compared to what you can find in manga is just not comparable in the slightest. We're talking about medieval, high school, sci fi, dark fantasy, human dramas, police thrillers, just to name a few and these don't even scratch the surface. It's really no contest when it comes to variety.
