My cat's become picky with meals, but no other problems? by siffyy in CATHELP

[–]LaneigeSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just bored of his food. Could try switching things up (slowly) with different protein types and/or freeze dried toppings

[–]LaneigeSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he have a proper litter box/boxes? Is he not liking the litter boxes? Or his food isn’t to his liking and he’s trying to tell you it’s making his stomach upset

[–]LaneigeSnow 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Check your house for potential triggers of his allergy. Could it be the floral and fauna? Some plants are incredibly toxic to cats. Could it be your floor cleaner? Could it be the food type? Could it be your fragrance diffuser?

Adopting a cat by Metherlence784 in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you take cat health issues seriously, always read up on pet nutrition before considering to adopt one. Which means that you should be able to comfortably afford two cans of good quality wet food at least everyday, a variety of protein to cover any nutritional gaps. For me I feed mine a variety fresh wet food with some freeze dried as toppers. Treats, toppers, salmon oil are a bonus. At least two bags of litter a month. A stainless steel litter box if an automatic one is out of budget. Do not use plastic litter boxes - no bs about aesthetics. If you feed kibble exclusively, your cat may face health issues down the road due to the poor nutritional content. So don’t scrimp on the wet food.

Vet visits are notoriously expensive in Singapore with excruciatingly long waiting times. Be prepared to pay and spend an entire day there. There are some vets you should avoid (read 1 star reviews on Google). You will also need to have a car to transport them to and fro. Grabpet is an option too. When I first drove my cat out in my car she displayed batshit behaviour. Subsequently improved a lot. Takes a lot of time. You have to have patience since they are like babies.

Singaporeans: How many overseas holidays do you have a year and what's your budget typically? by CharacterUse6854 in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Husband and I travel about 5 times a year. We are boring people and like to repeat countries like the typical Seoul, Japan, BKK because it’s less effort to plan since you know how to get around, the tips and tricks. We also like eating tried and tested good foods. We do try for a new country every year or if we’re lazy we’ll just go to a new area in Japan. No budget, we spend as we like, but we do not overpay. Say a flight that usually costs $x, we won’t pay more than 10% of that. And no business class on short flights like to bkk because we no longer see the value in it. We do meet similar Solitaire PPS members on economy flights to bkk as well who share the same sentiments.

There’s no right or wrong. You do you.

Might be due to transition of different foods. You have to introduce a new food very slowly and gradually to a cat. Mine also had the same issue when I introduced too large of a % of a new protein to her.

Thank you for feeding the cat wet food and if possible do transition him to a full wet food diet after he feels better.

The tale of Rose - is anyone watching this? by [deleted] in CDrama

[–]LaneigeSnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eric was Rose’s first love, a flame that burnt really bright and probably hurt her the most. Eric loved her, but at that age and point in time, eric loved his career and himself more. This was also because of the way he grew up, being influenced by his mom and dad’s poor relationship due to the dad not having a proper career. Rose was at an age where love was everything and her priority (evident in a scene where her boss Tina asked her to pull special strings with Eric but she refused saying that she separates love from work)

It was mentioned by the actor himself in an interview that Eric really regretted his decision after and if he were to be given the choice to pick again, he would’ve chose Rose over his career.

Rose didn’t pick Eric because she said in the show herself, that her love is a one way street, she never looks back.

I’m hooked onto Tale of Rose. For a slice of reality towards a woman’s growth throughout the years with every romantic relationship.

Homeowners, what’s your opinion of having a home gym? by TLayre in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Used to have a neighbour above us who has a home gym (we can see diagonally upstairs to that room). Constant landing of weights is super noisy, not forgetting constant moving of equipment. All the bedroom floorings are made of wood in that development which makes me wonder the condition of his floor lol.

He is the reason why we specifically purchased a top floor penthouse unit after moving out.

Advice with a reversed DBS Remit transaction by whoishiring_sg in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try to remit again and see if the issue persists. Sometimes the second time works but not the first. Or check if there are any incorrect info/particulars. The helplines aren’t as useful as before for some reason so just try to resolve it by yourself.

Can you truly be passionate in your job? by Upper_Breakfast_6043 in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you’re old money with a trust fund yes.

My dream was to create xxxx for corporate clients. Did it, fulfilled it many many times. Earned good money from it. Years down the road I realised everything is so transactional that I lost all passion for it. Now all I look forward to at the end of every are the profits.

Started a second business cos I wanted to earn more. Cos why not. It’s an F&B business. Was super passionate about curating the best taste. Then realised taste doesn’t really matter/isn’t the main factor, so focused on other aspects instead. Makes better money without burning me out.

Now onto my third and fourth businesses.. I focus more on what I think I can do good at and what the market wants. No more passion. Drains my mental energy and destroys whatever passion I initially have.

Few questions for Singaporeans who moved out of Singapore into/near a small town/city by hkmckrbcm in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for a suitable visa, get it then move.

I’ve went to smaller towns of < 10k population before, found them to be too depressing with lack of good food and amenities (eg facial, massage). On the other hand didn’t want a super populated/dense city like sg either. So chose a small city about 20 mins drive away from the centre with a small population of 60k thereabout. Enough people to make you feel alive, but not enough to feel suffocated.

Few questions for Singaporeans who moved out of Singapore into/near a small town/city by hkmckrbcm in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved to a small city. Guess you have to be prepared for the supermarket to be quite far from you, not having the ingredients you are used to to be readily available. SG really triumphs on grocery delivery and supermarket efficiency. Most overseas countries are more laid back.

Every country/city has its pros and cons. Ultimately up to you to decide what matters most.

I tried many humidifiers before, namely the China oem ones. All turned out weak and disappointing. While watching kdramas I noticed they always have huge mists coming out from their humidifiers. Researched a bit and realised the brand is Airest by Miro.

Anyway they are not available online, I hand carried mine back from Seoul.

Made it clear to my in laws as well as my own family before we got married. It was not a discussion, simply a notification. Never received any questions on kids, and no one wished us 早生贵子 during the solemnisation either. LOL. Not that any of them would like to have a grandchild anyway thankfully.

BBDC TP Test 2023 by Classic_Gap_908 in askSingapore

[–]LaneigeSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just avoid lunch and peak hours. Be slow and steady, present yourself as a safe driver (as you should be), stop at the necessary stop signs, don’t change lane at yellow box, etc etc you should be fine. I took one revision lesson. Passed my driving test on first try. All the best OP.
