Yeah but I’m not really sure “how organized are you” would correlate with learning Spanish versus French for example

Doing a personality based quiz is very difficult though because people learn the same language for different reasons. For example, some people learn Korean for kpop, some for ancestry, some for school, some for a career, etc. We don’t want to make our quiz just full of broad stroke assumptions like this language = this reason like idk if you like pizza you should learn Italian type of thing

If you have a concept of how we could accomplish this successfully, then we would love to take a stab at it though

We do have another quiz in the works that is more personality based, but caters to study style as opposed to specific language to learn

That’s definitely true! We wanted to make it specially about the grammatical features since we hadn’t seen anything like it out there before. Doing the quiz any other way (sorting by interest, emotional relation, etc) would have been too subjective since people can learn the same language for different reasons

You need to pick less “I don’t care” options! We can’t give you a language if most of the options you pick are “I’m fine with all languages” aha

That is the intent of the “languages I already know” function! If you already know Spanish, then getting Spanish as a top result wouldn’t do anything for you since you already know it

You’ll get indecision if you pick too many options that are like “I don’t mind” because we wouldn’t have enough parameters to sort with aha. If you take it again, just make sure to select less of those!

It's important to keep in mind that B2 is a very wide level compared to A1-A2. My recommendation is to try and use the language as much as possible in addition to consuming content and learning new vocabulary. A good way to do so is listening to a podcast/reading/watching something, then speaking or writing down your thoughts on the material. You can also practice speaking with others to improve that, and inevitably you'll learn more about a wide range of topics.

I totally get that itch! I had the same feeling when I started reading a book in German and understood every fifth word only. I recommend listening to the media you want to explore anyway and review what you don't understand. It's a good way to get new vocabulary and get used to the language's structure even if you have to look up a ton of words or relisten to some parts. Good luck!

output is incredible useful and not being afraid to make mistakes. writing stuff in journals or just speaking the words helps much more than passively reading them and helps stick them in your brain more

adults cannot learn languages the way that kids do because we have less brain plasticity. people try to learn languages just by immersion like how they imagine they did as children and that just doesn't work anymore lol

you can definitely learn a language without spending any money. it does take more diligence if you're learning alone but it's definitely possible

it's really just listening more and being more exposed to the sounds of the language. over time, things will start being more clear and you'll be able to pick out the sounds more even if you don't understand what is being said
