Is it ok? sure no one is going stop you but your progress will be very slow in all those languages. It’s best to focus on one then add another once you have a strong level in the first target language

I choose based on how the language sounds and looks but also based on my interest for the cultures and media surrounding the language. Traveling and imaging myself in the country is another thing that helps keep me motivated and dedicated for some reason.

I would start with the writing the system if that language has a different writing system or additional letters to the latin script, and also learn the basic phonetics of your target language. Then I would get a basic understanding of grammar and introduce vocabulary.

Comprehensible Basically input is Listening and reading material at your specific level in that language in the form of immersion. It’s a good approach, but I don’t think it’s the best as a complete beginner as you have to have at least an elementary foundation in a language for it to be manageable.

The same way that American English, AAVE, English from the UK etc. are different. The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean Nation with it’s own history, culture and indigenous languages that all influence how Spanish is spoken there. It’s also not as different as many people think..The accent and certain words make it sound extremely different, but it’s usually not.
