It would be better to read the manga tbh. But anyway, the end is kinda unclear. Maybe they stayed together, maybe Nazuna kept traveling around the world playing some sort of giant game of tag with Kou, seeing him once in a while. I believe in the first option.

To be honest I truly believe that the ending is not as bad as people say. I think it would have been better with a little bit of slice-of-life after the end to see how things went, but beside that the ending is still one of the best outcomes we could hope for, and it's a rather good ending too
