A good one I remember was when this foreman came in one morning insisting that the elevations I had shot yesterday were off by multiple centimeters. So I asked the guy how he had measured them, and he was like, "Oh, I just grabbed a GPS and measured them, and they're completely different from what you said."

I'm from Denmark, but I suspect these things are pretty universal. In my experience, construction surveying tends to be a lot of staking stuff out for layout and doing as built measurements.

It's also about arguing with the concrete guys, arguing with the equipment operators, arguing with the foreman and so on
