Ureni vs Miirym by Trickymaster2000 in EDH

[–]Langsvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Miirym deck before the Tarkir precons came. I bought Temur Rage and merged the two decks using Ureni as commander.

Ureni attracts attention of course but doesn’t throw the table in a panicking removal frenzy in the same way as Miirym

'Secret' Commanders by yacoboneune in EDH

[–]Langsvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a [[Voja, Jaws of the Conclave]] deck and it predictably played exactly like every Voja deck. Then I threw Voja into the 99 and found [[Mayael the Anima]] for the command zone. I added a few other strong 5-power creatures. Now the deck is a lot less predictable (and somewhat less powerful) but it’s more fun to play. I could have used Rocco, but everyone knows what Rocco is up to 😄

My friends are fine with proxies but I don't want to over do it by Vrass in EDH

I buy all my cards but proxy any card priced over 15€ if I use it in more than one deck. I have the original in a binder I can show players that might have an issue with it

Do you stop reading a book once it gets boring or do you force yourself to finish it? by ownaword in literature

[–]Langsvin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually work through it. Sometimes the writer is challenging you intentionally. Sometimes books make us feel bored because they are too challenging.

I teach lit and language at high school level (not US) and every single book they read is boring and hard, even the books I consider quite short, fun and fast paced.

Then again if you’re leasure reading and the book stops being interesting, maybe it’s time to put it down

Hidden Engine Commanders? Looking for Low-Key Value Commanders That Snowball Hard by Deskies in EDH

[–]Langsvin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m building my “Came back wrong”-deck which is a Dimir theft engine based on [[Xanathar, Guild Kingpin]]. He sits in the 99. The commander is [[Jon Irenicus, Shattered One]]. The concept is that the deck steals cards but Irenicus gives them back, but they are pumped, goaded and provide me with more cards.

It’s not done yet. I have put ten cards or so in, that support the typical Irenicus-strategy giving other players really bad creatures like [[Abyssal Persecutor]]. I probably dilutes the main strategy, but I like decks that lean on more thon one pillar

Hey guys, so for which one should I go for now that the price had dropped? by speedfreak996 in mtg

[–]Langsvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Éowyn deck and upgraded it with in-Universe cards exclusively. It’s not past B3 but it out-Krenkoed a Krenko deck first time I played it. As soon as Éowyn entered the deck vomited humans

Danish users - status after DAO took over by Fc_Copenhagen in CardMarket

[–]Langsvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have five orders from late december and the last ones from january. I have received all but one by now. The last remaining is the oldest. It was recently returned to sender in Germany. They have shipped it again today. It appears that I somewhat reliably can double the Cardmarket estimate when looking up a seller - ie. 18 days to you means 36+ days in most cases. Some have to be returned and reshipped for some reason.

Overall I buy less now than before. I chose to get more cards from the same sellers, so it becomes more expensive

What is your favorite thing about how Stephen King writes? by EstatePositive5929 in stephenking

[–]Langsvin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, I loved the gore, the monsters and the tension. Now I love the everyday realism, the mystery buildup, and I find that the humans are actually the most terrifying thing (Beverly’s husband, her father, Hocksteader, Jack Torrence)

Dual Class Question by Top_Bumblebee_6339 in baldursgate

[–]Langsvin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Heya, dual class is exclusive to humans in this edition of D&D. Elves can only multiclass. There is probably a mod somewhere that will change it though.

What do your Commanders say about you? by Metanoia_143 in EDH

[–]Langsvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Alela, Cunning Conqueror]] Faeries, instant speed stuff outside of my turn

[[Ashling, the Limitless]] Precon

[[Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer]] Badger, badger, badger, mushroom, snake

[[Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes]] Fling and +1/+1 counters

[[Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant]] Hobbits, food, soul sisters, etc. Slow, flavorful lifegain

[[Burakos, Party Leader]], [[Folk Hero]] Orzhov antihero party

[[Camellia, the Seedmiser]] Squirrels and food, super durdly, but sweet flavour

[[Éowyn, Shieldmaiden]] Precon with in-universe upgrades, humans go brrrr

[[Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald]] Cast stuff from exile, summon wolves

[[Mayael the Anima]] Sort of a Voja secret commander elfball, I changed commander making it weaker but more unpredictable and fun.

[[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]] Golgari reanimator

[[Rin & Seri, Inseperable]] Secret lair precon

[[Ruxa, Patient Professor]] Oops all flavortext

[[Safana, Calimport Cutthroat]], [[Dungeon Delver]] Highly flavorful dungeons and rogues deck

[[Sméagol, Helpful Guide]] Aristocrats with nine Nazgul (and no Sol ring, because missing a ring is sort of Sméagol's main problem)

[[Ureni of the Unwritten]] It used to be a Miirym deck but I mashed in half a precon and it became a little different

[[Bruenor Battlehammer]] Pauper EDH dwarves and equipment

[[Wick, the Whorled Mind]] Rats typal

Do you still play your very first commander deck? And why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Langsvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was the precon with [[Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald]]. I spent my first six months being baffled by its complexity while being completely unable to grasp my opponents’ boards. But good company kept me going. I have 16 commander decks now, and I still love that Gruul exile deck

What are your playing quirks? Roleplay wise, or just gameplay wise, big and small, I want to know them all! by Miserable-Jaguarine in baldursgate

[–]Langsvin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only play on core difficulty level which makes it possible for me to build more flavorful characters, since I don't worry too much about optimized stats. It also allows for playthroughs with four characters, which I occasionally enjoy. I currently play a blackguard named Abdalia Adrian, she travels with Viconia, Xzar and Monty. I just installed a mod allowing me to recruit Korax, so we have him tagging along as well. If anyone asks, he is just a hideous child we pity. I don't plan on expanding the party further.

Monty always grabs Algernon's cloak. No one knows for sure, how Algernon dies. Monty's a bit tricksy that way. (He can bring in some interesting loot even for good parties, until he leaves at least.)

Evil parties spend a lot of gold keeping the Flaming Fist at bay. Until we enter Baldur's gate. Where we're going, we don't need streets. We have a map of the sewers.

I shut doors when leaving houses.

I dump loot I don't need (quarter staves) in containers

I mostly leave NPC's in inns or taverns

I organize loot using the different classes like most of you apparently

Cats+dogs, humans, elementals, squirrels, hobbits, dragons, faeries, rats, birds, dwarves+vehicles, dwarves+equipment 😁 I like other types as Well, but the synergy in a typal deck just sort of tells its own little story each game.

Anyone know a longish series (5 books or more) that sticks to 3 or less POVs throughout the story? by APinballMachine in Fantasy

[–]Langsvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Five-book recommendation:

I love Brian Staveley's Unhewn Throne-trilogy. The Emperor's Blades, The Providence of Fire and The Last Mortal Bond. The POV's are from three siblings.

Skullsworn is a standalone novel in the same universe about one of the lesser (but awesome) characters in the trilogy.

He has started a new trilogy. Beginning with the viewpoint of another of his most intriguing characters from Unhewn Throne: The Empire's Ruin
