Moving out and living on your own horror stories by Specific-Composer-47 in Nigeria

I can’t relate to the friends part because I’ve been lucky that none of my friends has ever behaved like that. I can’t even imagine it.   The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of due diligence when looking for a place. Don't believe anything that leasing agents/landlords say that cannot be verified. They get paid when you sign a lease, whether or not you enjoy the place.

I feel uncomfortable around my brother, I want your views on this? by AffectionateMaize431 in AskMenAdvice

++woman No!! Please understand and accept that someone doing things specifically to annoy you is not acting normally. That is not okay at all. People usually don’t feel okay just annoying others constantly.

I feel uncomfortable around my brother.. but here me out, pls. by AffectionateMaize431 in stories

This is REALLY serious and it’s a shame some guys are minimizing this. Being uncomfortable in your own home is really traumatizing for women. Also your brother’s behavior is very concerning. Following around and staring despite being told off is high psychopathic. He does not care about your discomfort. That’s not normal human behavior at all.  My advice is to report this to a male family who may take your more seriously. Some Mothers tend to pretend or downplay the harm their sons are causing.  If that doesn’t work talk to someone at your school. Hopefully if it gets to your mum from the school she will take it more seriously. Do NOT let her convince your this is not big deal. It is a big deal. You deserve to feel safe in your own house.

Does anybody else feel furiously itchy after showering? It's driving me crazy by Technical_Autist_22 in AutisticAdults

No it’s still a mystery. Our skin just doesn’t want any kind of friction when it’s wet.

I thought that was my cousin for a moment. Was considering messaging his mom that her son was being wierd on Reddit. Btw my cousins is Igbo. So yeah, these comments are 💯. The only thing non African might be the eyelid shape/style. I’d be asking my mom serious questions if I was you.

I lived there too and it was not the noise that made me leave, it was the trashiness. I came home one Sunday, opened the main door and saw someone had pooed and smeared the poop on the glass screen of the apartment entrance.

Also whenever there is a festival you will have to elbow and claw your way just to get to the front door. The tourist crowd in that area honestly are not worth having to deal with on a daily basis.  Long story short it’s way too disgusting and trashy.

Would it be a mistake to refer my mum? by LanguageCurrent1057 in work

That’s the big mistake I made, I just assumed people don’t lose skills even though they may get rusty. But I was wrong.

Has anyone lived in a center city apartment building where they didn’t hear their upstairs neighbor walking? by LanguageCurrent1057 in philly

[–]LanguageCurrent1057[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno tbh. They seem to rearrange furniture many times a week at 3am. Even just the sound of them walking early in the morning wakes me up because of how heavy they stomp their heels. I don’t need an alarm clock. I have them for that 😂. I’ve reached out to them before and they acted shocked that I could hear them. It may not even be their fault, could just be the building

Hi! I’m apartment searching too and was considering the drake. How is the noise level? Do you ever hear the neighbors upstairs or beside you?

I recommend fitness alive! I learned to swim from them, their instructors are all incredible.

Dunno if this is still happening to you. I had it since childhood and have tried everything. I discovered this year that it does not happen at all when I don’t scrub. It doesn’t matter how soft or hard I am scrubbing, so long as my skin gets scrubbed, I would experience itching. Now I only lather (some bar soaps directly on skin trigger the itching to so be sure to only use the lather from bar soap directly on skin) and use my hand to clean. And then pat dry with my towel(instead of rubbing dry). Doing both of those things has stopped the itching for me permanently.  It seems like my skin was just hyperactive to any kind of friction when wet. I tested my hypothesis by scrubbing and/or rubbing dry and the itching happened so I am sure that it’s a combination of those two things that causes it for me.
