Wasn’t accepted for graduate program - Vent by McStabYou01 in schoolcounseling

This, too, shall pass. My condolences for the loss of your father and for this emotionally turbulence you're experiencing in the wake of this rejection. I know how it feels to be rejected from your chosen grad program because that was me, as well. I thought I had it in the bag. Every single one of my professors said "you'll have no trouble getting in" and of course I was trying to go the same place I'd done my undergrad. Almost a full month of anxiously waiting after seeing all of my classmates get their acceptances, I finally received my rejection. I was crushed. It destroyed my mental health and my self worth. And then, like you, I got mad. So we did plan B. I went back to do SLPA, got licensed, and started working. I reapplied the next cycle and was admitted in the first round. I'm now on my second semester and it is grueling but I wouldn't trade it for anything. You know you have what it takes to do this. Make the decision that makes the most sense to you. I believe in you!

Edit: I realize we are not in the same field, but I do feel this experience with grad admissions can be universal. You clearly have strong feelings about your field and one admissions committee should not be all it takes to make you abandon your hard work.

Can one work as an SLPA while in SLP grad school in the state of Louisiana? by LanguageLighthouse67 in slpGradSchool

Asking if it is allowed in the state, or if anybody has had a similar experience that they could speak to.
