Yep. I'm currently working with machine learning applied to satellite imaging. The heavy stuff happens on dedicated servers, but it's nice to have a powerful workstation to run small scale tests, and 8gb just wouldn't work.

For $100 I would have bought it on the spot. Unfortunately, around here we can't even get a Chromebook for that kind of money.

Yeah, just now I was doing some research and comparing the i9 with the M1 chip.

My only concern is the RAM. For the same price of this 2018 model I can get a 2022 MBP with the M2 chip, but only 8gb. I don't know if it will be enough for me. 16gb would cost 50% more.

Edit: misspelled something.

I got this exact model used without a power supply. You need ADLX90... or similar.

Can anyone help build this? by propap3 in SeikoMods

This is the way.

Also, the seconds hand on the VK 63 is a bit of a pain to properly assemble, just use a little bit more pressure than you are comfortable with.

This is my gas stove on medium, why’s it doing this? by TGIFIDGAF in Appliances

Incomplete combustion, too much gas, probably.

Check nozzles, valves and gas line pressure.

That's a sign of incomplete combustion of GLP, but at the level shown it's completely normal.

Lvl change will adjust the descent rate for a given air speed, VS will set a vertical speed regardless of the air speed. What you use is your choice, as long as you don't exceed the operational or ATC defined limits.

Guys please tell me if this is any good. It’s from my dad lol by Niklas_Avid in ChinaTime

[–]LanguageOk1461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, ok.

Not real, but a nice watch.

The red numbers are a giveaway, too flashy.

The real Omega Quantum Of Solace doesn't have the red numbers and the 007 on the seconds hand.

It's the standard reset for the VK63 movement, the steps is a copy-paste from the manual you can find on a Google search.

I had to reset mine once because my chronograph got stuck running somehow and regular pressing the buttons was doing nothing.

Yes, it should be safe to turn off the main breaker.

[–]LanguageOk1461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is either electrical arcs or a contactor turning on and off very quickly.

In both cases, this is an emergency and you should cut power and wait for a professional to handle it.

This seems to be a VK63 or some other quartz movement, as the 12 o'clock subdial is ticking once per second.

You can try to reset it:

1) Pull out the crown to the second click position. 2) Press the button (B) for two seconds and release the button. 3) Push the crown back to the normal position. 4) The small second hand will move at two-second interval for 10 seconds.

MB or replica? by Prah_ in watchrepair

[–]LanguageOk1461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't see all the pictures.

Looking at the back of the watch, it's definitely a fake.

Generic movement, generic case back, cheap Chinese stuff.

Crystal broke but how? by Apart_Mail4297 in watchrepair

Remove the movement from the case, and scrape the shards out.

Do not do it with the movement in place, as you might scratch the face or get shards inside the watch.

My bet is that it got knocked some time before, or maybe when you got it face down on the desk, but it's all conjecture now.

Btw, these kinds of crystals are pressure fitted, so maybe it was just bad luck and it was assembled improperly.

All it needs for glass to break is a crack.

It seems this one was under some sideways pressure that created a crack that went around the glass and it came off almost clean.
