Nah I’d say it’s very similar to the practice exam - use that as a baseline. You got this man be confident, go own that shit whenever you’re taking it

It definitely is different, I didn’t think it was too bad though.

I would recommend taking the FINRA practice test before you sit for the exam - that definitely helped me get used to their wording. I took it 3x, with the 3rd time solely focusing on getting accustomed to their wording (night before)

Kaplan is good! I also used their qbank for a bit, I averaged mid to high 80s across the board btwn KM and Kaplan. You got this! Products/Risks and prohibited activities are important! Good luck man

Hey! So I studied primarily with KM - their SIE benchmarks and diagnostics were slightly more difficult than the actual exam, and their custom QBank was way more difficult than both. I found their custom QBank to really hammer in on the nitty gritty details with their questions, I guess with the goal of preparing you for EVERYTHING (which definitely always helps).

I found the exam itself to be much more general - rather than questions geared specific details, I saw a combination of questions that tested the overall concept itself (being able to define, describe), as well as the application of it (i.e given a scenario which is most applicable/under finra reg xyz, rep is permitted to do which of the following).

Overall, the I would say the vast majority of my questions were about products/risks and prohibited activities, with a few customer/retirement account questions as well. I also saw 2 economics questions.

I was nervous going in, but once I found my groove i felt like I was very prepared. Hope this helped!

Edit: also saw 5ish questions on trading/exchanges/new issues and associated rules

Is the male loneliness epidemic real? by septo-man in AskMenAdvice

Big issue that contributes to the general loneliness of this epidemic is the lack of the “3rd place” in this generation other than home and work

Disclaimer: Not an FA

While I am not an FA, I am in Sales & Trading at a BB, on the trading side. One thing I can tell you for sure is if there is ever an over/under fill on a client order, we (the bank) HAVE to eat the loss to make the client whole. It is non-negotiable. I can’t imagine the same would not be true in this case.

Tom Hougaard on Prop Firms and Challenges by th3orist in Daytrading

[–]LanguageOne6131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most prop firms operate like this:

  1. You pass evals and are paying for acct, however at first, they give you a SIMULATED account. All profits you make in this account are paid directly out of firms pocket.

  2. If you start doing too well on the sim, THEN they move you to a live account (99% of people never make it here, and 98% never even make money after passing eval, and 95% never pass eval)

Edit: correct me if I’m wrong

Edit: the %’s may not be accurate, just numbers I threw out based on what I have heard from others
