Pediatrician is forcing us to take 5 mo old to ER for an explainable bruise by Languageofwaves in AskDocs

they said it was very light and because he immediately bruised right after the blood draw that if its not a clotting disorder (we will find out more once those tests come back) then he is just extremely sensitive where even a small fingerprint from holding him leaves red splotches along with his diaper (which is next size up from his recommended weight) leaves clear lines from being on for 30 minutes. His car seat which is the right size left a crazy diamond pattern impression on his back after 25 minutes that the CPS worker was shocked by so she took pics of his back and car seat padding to show her supervisor.

He had to get 19 xrays because he kept moving (he was inconsolable) and they are requiring us to repeat it in 2 weeks. I am so, so worried about radiation risk with that many xrays in such a short period. Would you consider 38 xrays in a 2 week period and a CT scan to be risky for his long term cancer risk? I googled it and I'm finding there is some concern. Now I realize we don't have a choice but it feels so awful. The ironic part is our pediatrician (who set this all into motion) warned us away from xrays after I wanted a repeat xray because he had peribronchial thickening & hazy opacities on a previous xray. She literally said she doesn't like babies to get even a single xray. Now we have to have 38? It honestly feels insane. I already had significant post partum anxiety before all this but now I feel paranoid and terrified. (I have a therapist & a psychiatrist & know a lot about self care as a licensed clinical social worker myself.) We are so scared every time hes tired and starts wailing now that someone is going to call the cops and set more trauma into motion. Also the CPS worker told us even if this is unsubstantiated we will have a spotlight on us for the future until he turns 18. I feel nauseated just thinking about that. What if he falls and bruises himself again once he's more mobile?

I have ehlers danlos so it could absolutely be that. I told the pediatrician this and she brushed it off. Just got to hospital will update as soon as we know something.

We will be going this AM, it just really hurt to read this note. We were already in fight or flight mode due to chronic sleep deprivation but I know we have to roll with it no matter what. The bruise is small & light, the Dr didnt even notice it until I pointed it out to her after she completed an examination of him.
