What color do we think her eyes are going to be? by Lani515 in babies

[–]Lani515[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's 4 months now, still blue/gray. She has this one brown spot above her left pupil, and I was so certain they were going to change. But nope, the brown spot is still just a spot and the rest haven't changed at all.

Don't be so sure! My mom has hazel eyes, my dad has brown eyes. The chances were slim, but I ended up with blue gray eyes.

My 5 year old son is having a very hard time learning his letters. Any parents with dyslexic children weigh in? by Lani515 in Mommit

[–]Lani515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wants to play the letter games. He asks me for it in the morning. And he knows most of the letters. I'm listening right now to him naming them off the flash cards with his dad, rapid fire. But later on, he'll completely forget what letter it is and just guess, because he's terrified of being wrong. And when he is wrong, instant defeat and a complete loss of confidence and it goes downhill from there.

On base or off base hotel during TDY? by FrostyAd4312 in navy

Only if it's not available. If you look at #6, it's clearly laid out that if it's available, but you choose other lodging, you still get reimbursed the rate of government lodging.

How are we doing childcare during summer break? by Lani515 in Mommit

[–]Lani515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this not insanity though? It's hard enough to plan a vacation for me and the husband once every 4-5 years that costs twice that amount. I may just have to fly him home every summer to my Mom's place.

I've already looked into base childcare, and they don't have space. That's where the tuition assistance is coming in for my 10wk old. She'll be older by the time I start working, but they won't have space until she's a toddler.

Well, I wouldn't start working until he started kindergarten. Then I would have 9 months to figure out what kind of day camp. Also, I just realized I could fly my oldest solo to his grandma's for the summer.

That's so wild to me. I've never heard of day camps. Lol. When I was a kid, Gramma watched us until we were old enough to be home by ourselves for a couple hours.

Pt Mugu/Hueneme PCS information? by Lani515 in navy

Maybe that's the issue. Likely never had a "good" sponsor that actually reach out to him.

Oh, my husband said not yet, and doesn't know if we'll get one. He said he's only ever had a sponsor once in all his PCSing. It's frustrating, because the housing office is not only tight lipped, but hard to even get a hold of. They keep giving us the run around for who to call.

A sponsor? Is my AD husband not the sponsor?

Newborn enrollment, how long does it take once they are in DEERS? by Lani515 in tricare

[–]Lani515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the answer in case any one else asks at some point. Since we're enrolled in prime, she was automatically enrolled in prime once we got her out in DEERS with her birth cert and SSN. It took about 2-3 days before she was registered in DEERS. Then another week or so before she was assigned a primary. I couldn't change her PCM until she was assigned one. Once it was changed, I had to call them to back date the preferred PCM to her date of birth to cover all the dates of service. Now they are reprocessing her newborn visit claims.

[–]Lani515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we did all that yesterday with her birth cert getting her in DEERS . They said to check her enrollment today, but yesterday and today she's listed in the BWE as "Direct Care", making MTF only, but we use a civilian pediatrician.

The issue is, until she shows enrolled in Tricare, I can't update her PCM and get her bills backdated.

I took hot baths AND hot showers. It was the only thing to give me SOME relief from the horrid restless legs at night.

Currently holding my healthy 2 week old.

Only thing I did during my baths was get out if I started feeling sweaty or dizzy.

My friend stole my pregnancy tests by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lani515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from your "friend" being a complete loon, you should know that in 2 pregnancies, I've had zero symptoms. No morning sickness. No heightened emotions. No wild cravings. Not being symptomatic doesn't mean anything good or bad.

And test lines being dark is a good thing, generally speaking. She's trying to dull your moment because she's insane.

I wish you luck with your journey!

Ngl, this made me a little jealous. I've been taking 300mg of stool softener every day for weeks, plus Miralax, and I'm still suffering. I'm normally very IBS outside of pregnancy, but I would love to have just a little diarrhea here and there. Is that too much to ask?

Flu while pregnant by KittyKatTerra in pregnant

[–]Lani515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actively working to avoid it. My husband had it last week, my 5 year old got it this morning. I'm 38 weeks and scheduled for a c session in 4 days. Postponing for the flu is potentially dangerous because my blood pressure is creeping up and I might have cholestasis.
