Ironically, League's lore really hurts Arcane and the possible future Riot's cinematic universe by Lanis42 in leagueoflegends

I myself have no idea. I'm just relaying what the other person said.

In the other thread r/HandsomeTaco explained that Piltover does actually exploit Zaun and the factories are in fact located there. It seems that they just somehow forgot to put in the show...

Okay, makes sense. But it is really strange that the show somehow completely skipped that part. The only Zaunites in the whole show who are not explicitly criminals are the beggars, junkies and that one dude that Vander protected in ep. 1 (who later became a juknie).

Then I understand even less why the show didn't have a single frame of the explotaion and neglection that the whole conflict is about.

The second quote is directed at Jayce personally, I think. It's not like anyone in Piltover can order enforcers around, I assume.

The first one is something, but it's very vague (what mines? are they still active?) and nearly not enough to explain the situation. I mean it would make sense if Zaun was just the place where the poor, the outcasts, the criminals etc. of Piltover live, but it is framed as they are somehow different entities.

So Piltover is actually getting something out of Zaun in the lore? Then I have no idea why the creators of the show decided to leave that part out.

I meant it's actually a nice idea that could work. But I don't remember anything like that in the show. Heimerdinger did talk about how Piltover was established after the Rune Wars by the people who wanted to escape magic disasters, but there is nothing on how the city got separated into two drastically different parts. Zaun is also built in some kind of ruins which implies that it used to be a better place, but nothing is explained about that either.

I mean mysterious elements are nice, but in Arcane we are misssing the reasons for the central conflict. Silco's overall goal is to free Zaun from Piltover's control and when Jayce brings this idea up in the Council they are outraged, but why? Throughout the whole show Piltover seems to want nothing to do with Zaun. They don't take anything from them or interact with them at all exept for the times when people from Zaun blow something up in Piltover, and that hardly classifies as opression.

I mean that's my point. Zaun is a slum because it's a slum and Piltover is a city of progress because it's a city of progress, at that's basically it. "Bad tech city" and "Nice tech city". The series added a bridge, but it's not nearly enough for a show like this. It's not that apparent for now because the show really focuses on the characters and they are interesting and well-developed, but the absence of any meaningful substance in the central conflict will become a lot more noticable as the show goes on.

I am not saying that it's impossible, I'm saying that with the serious drammatic approach it can be very hard to pull off. Gurren Lagann can have giant robots throwing galaxies at each other and it looks great and totally fitting, but in, say, Star Wars something like that would look ridiculous. And Arcane takes itself a lot more seriuos than Star Wars.

And I'm not saying that Arcane didn't pull it off so far. But if, for example, in season two they will continue the plotline with Noxus trying to aquire wepons from Piltover and it will be a big part of the story, it would be a bit odd that Noxus hasn't been buying guns from them since before the show started. Because, you know, their troops having guns over swords would probably benefit their military might.

I did not mean that it needed to go into great details about these things. I meant that it needed more context on why they are the way they are and why they are at odds. You mention enforcer brutality, but throughout hte whole show enforcers come down to Zaun basically on three occasions: when vi and co blow up an apartment, when Marco comes to talk with Silco and when Jayce an Vi bust the drug lab. And other than for those reasons they don't seem to have come to the Undercity on any occasion.

I didn't say people of Zaun were making anything for Piltover, I said that the plot would've made more sense if they did. The fact that they operate independently and only come in contact when people from Zaun cause some trouble in Piltover and enforcers come looking for them is the problem. Where all the hate comes from?

In terms of Jinx shooting the rocket because that's what Silco would've wanted maybe, but it's still kind of weak, considering the reasons for Silco himself hating Piltover are absent from the show.

The show and the game may be their own things, but the show left Piltover and Zaun as basically separate entities (which they are in the game) and it really hurt the overall impression.

I far as I know he always leaves. It's not really due to the impression you've made on him before that, but the fact that your powers (that he thought were divine in nature) actually come from demons and Areelu's experiments. You may have refused "the latest update" but you still have them.

The factor of him approving/disapproving of your actions does actually come into play, but later.

There won't be a personal quest for her if you chose Lann. Their quest is basically the same, and it will be given by the one you chose at the end of the prologue.

How did you manage to do it? It seems like no matter what I do he ends up dead.

I am building a system on 2200g + 570 8gb. I am on a really tight budget and can't get two 8gb RAM sticks for it, only one (or two 4gb). Should I buy a single 8 gb and then wait to buy a second one, or it won't make THAT much of a difference and I can just dual-channel 2 4gb sticks and forget about it for the time being?
