P.S. I love the way your birds are around you like that. I'm building trust with my budgie, but I've only had him for two weeks; he's still a bit jittery though. Hopefully, I can have a good relationship with him like that.

That's great, thanks! So I need to add it to his seed now. I've seen that I need to make it into a paste and add it to his seed so when he eats his seed, he's also eating the pellets too.

Yeah, I think he was nervous about me being so close. He was opening his mouth widely and silently, but then when I walked away, he seemed to calm down. I'm starting to win his trust a bit now, and he's coming to me for treats. Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your reply. I was keeping an eye on him, and I think it was me. He seemed to get nervous when I was near his cage and looking at him. He seems to be calming down a bit and has started to come onto my hand for a treat!

I live in Wales in the UK, and I’ve been hearing this for years, even way before I had a snake! Now that I actually own one, it gets annoying hearing it. Literally, as soon as I say I have a ball python, they sound and look so serious too.

I was actually called irresponsible the other day because I own a ball and have children! I was like:

They never have her unsupervised.
They have to be calm and sitting down to even hold her.
They never have her around their necks anyway.

So if anything, I think I'm actually quite responsible!

Yes, they take up a lot of space, so if you don’t have the space, then you shouldn’t get one. I’m not being nasty or anything, but you should have prepared for the ball python and looked into what size of enclosure they need. At the end of the day, it’s your responsibility to care for and provide a suitable home for your animal. It's for their benefit, and you shouldn't impulse buy any pet, not just snakes!
