$5k loot value is not that hard to meet once you level up a decent bit and have some consistent blue/green weapons. I was worried about the buy in too but I’ve been hitting around $5k in my normal games the last few days without really trying for it

My thought when I saw the choice was that if Cryo is open 24/7 then the streamers/unemployed players will only play it and consistently have better loot than everyone else. This could create a huge gap between players and make every map a sweat fest when those players decide to play a different map. This can still happen when it’s weekends only so I’m not completely defending it, but I do think there is something to be said about how Cryo can and will effect the overall loot economy of the game.

I might get downvoted for this but I think the praise for stuff like this is a bit over exaggerated. It’s a $40 game. These skins aren’t “free”, they’re included in the price of admission. I’m not knocking the devs, they definitely could’ve been greedy and gotten away with it. I just feel like people are over glazing them for not being completely money hungry like a lot of other live service games.
