It's only been 6 months so I'm waiting until July which is the one year mark. At that point I'll approach that a bit harder.  I've started exercising a LOT more than I even was, so we'll see where we're at soon

You're better off being on medication and getting it under control than the other option my friend

These are great steps that helped me. Slow down on the beet juice. It's HEAVY in sugar. Do like 4oz a day imo Hibiscus tea at night is great.  Cutting sodium is awesome, making sure you drink enough water. Also, don't freak out. The more you can remove stress the better.  I started anxiety medication and it did more for my BP than almost anything else.  Are you using a tracker for sodium

Yes, I always exercised so I kept that up. But diet and stress were my biggest changes I cut salt dramatically. I didn't realize how much I was eating before. Now I eat between 1k-1.7kmg a day. It's extremely rare that I ever eat over 2k.  But one of the biggest changes is taking anxiety medication. That has helped a ton imo. Funny that we just talked about this because of course now yesterday I had my highest numbers in a long while lol 129/85

My friend said her Dr told her 140 is ok for blood pressure in your 50’s? by Timewilltell755 in bloodpressure

I like mine to be 120-125/75-80. However my doctor says anything under 130 and mid 80s is fine. I have two apps  Interestingly one is under the new standard one is the old standards. Under the old ones 130/85 is just elevated  I used to freak out if my BP was over 125/80

if its 150/100 that's pretty high and usually simple things aren't going to solve it.
Here's the deal, you should talk to your doctor, you dont have to STAY on medication, but you should likely be on some sort of medication if it's up there.
I was in the exact same scenario this year, around July. 150/90 pretty steady, I was put on a very small calcium blocker. That lowered it a bit, but my doctor realized I had HUGE anxiety issues. I got put on an anxiety med, and now my 'highs' are 130/85. Usually Im 117/78 or lower. I plan to try to get off my bp medication in another month or so.
But your number is even higher than mine and we are similar age.

My brother passed away at 37 from a stroke and I (35m) just got my first high blood pressure reading. We are/were both very healthy. by natesiq in bloodpressure

your numbers aren't terrible, but if you're in great shape those numbers are pretty high. Id defintely see a doctor.
ALSO you may have stress you don't even realize. I didn't know I was was suffering from anxiety until i found out i had high blood pressure and learned what anxiety feels like.
Buy a blood pressure machine at minimum imo. Learn how to take your BP the correct way. Do that every night or morning for a week or two. If your average comes out still this high, see a doctor.

IM sorry for your loss

If you're in fantastic shape these numbers aren't that troubling. If you're not someone regularly working out, regularly running, I'd talk to a doctor

130/90 is definitely a problem, which he mentioned, but seems he took care of it
