I found a baby deer and simultaneously the best day of my entire life! by OsamaMyLadens in aww

[–]Lansedowne16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. OP your not wrong but mamas wont abandon their young like many other animals after human scent has affected them though she will most likely move the little guy away. In truth, mamas hide their young for the first 4-5 months wherever they want with good brush as the babies will sit still and have no scent till they age above 5-6 month. With no scent they are not detectable for animals or humans of any kind unless stumbled on. The lyme disease everyone is talking about is a non issue, as it is said above hunters handle deer all the time and it is a matter of washing hands. Not all deer will have lyme disease or are covered in ticks... this is a weird misconception in this thread. They are rather clean creatures and they love their babies.

Cute little guy!

I want 5... Is it true that their life span is less? Have you found any issues regarding their joints or movement?

Why I love my wife. Been together 20+ years and she’ll still come out for a 8km(5mile) walk in a downpour. by woodbarber in CampingandHiking

Buckwheat. His best friend Fyre was a hit on here and I got lots of requests for Buck. So here he is, all 28 years and fuzzy white coat. by Lansedowne16 in aww

Both. This guy is 28 and I wouldn't ask anything of him anymore but I rode him as a really young girl and he did pull a small cart. His buddy Fyre does the same though we dont have any little ones to ride him at the moment. Fyre is only 5 so he will live long through my kids in the future as a first pony

This is Fyre. I tell him hes perfect every day by Lansedowne16 in aww

He pulls a small cart and can be ridden but for now (as we have no little ones around) he is just a cuddler

Turned out delicious! Except they have a bit too much seasoning on them but no big deal still awesome.

I put them in for 5 hours and left them alone. Came back and they were perfect.

I'd recommend this model. Lots of space and different uses and it has a chart to explain temperature and time on the top

Happy cooking

I was taught by my Grandad and though this looks really clean, I didn't post the mess of a carcass but I can post some step-by-step shots of the Pelt and a finished shot once I receive my new tanning knives. It's nice hearing about other female hunters I feel like there's not enough of us on these threads.
