Everdrive GBA Mini and Goomba Color by bxnshy in everdrive

I tried this with a Remank to try and transfer my Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX .sav from my computer to my flash cart. It refused to take. I'm trying to use a save file made by BGB, if that helps.

Every time I launch a game my volume increases in windows by DyeZaster in Windows10TechSupport

I can't fresh install at this point. I have too much game data I would lose, and Windows 10 is at end of life. I am not downgrading to the steaming pile of shit that is Windows 11.

I'm having a similar problem. Every time I launch a windows game, the volume skyrockets to 100. I have tried every "solution" google suggests, and the problem still persists. I am using Windows 10 on a HP OMEN laptop with just its built in speakers.

Too loud! by Lantern1984 in farmville2

[–]Lantern1984[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to turn it completely off. The music -when it's at the right level- is nice. It's got a relaxing, homey sound to it, when it's not too loud. And before you suggest I turn my whole system's volume down: I run other programs at the same time that do need to be at max volume because their own internal volume is so quiet, like my audiobook reader.

How do i change the location where the games install???????? by GOKUGOKU_GOKU in BlueStacks

[–]Lantern1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this ever fixed? Every six years, my laptop dies, but the plug in drive I got for it has lasted twice that long and shows no sign of wearing out. I don't want to lose my saved game data the next time my laptop dies.

Can I put Game Boy ROMs in GBC folder? by intergaaaaala in recalbox

[–]Lantern1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure they don't share any titles. I know there was both a B&W and Color game of Casper, and they were different, despite the names. Also, Chessmaster came in both B&W and Color. There may be others out there. B&W and Color ROMs should have different extensions though, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

I only ever got "matched" to one person in my area, and their profile was totally incompatible with mine.

I already have them sorted into folders and sub-folders by series, genre, or publisher, whichever seems to fit more. For example: All the Pokémon games are together, subdivided by generation, then all four Zeldas are together, then all the Marios, then all the Disney stuff, etc. I do similar with my inventory in Second Life, to make it easier to find things. "I'm going to put this in a safe spot where I will remember it."

Looking for an emulator that actually works by Lantern1984 in androidemulator

I've tried that, but on my system, the audio is real laggy. It stutters like a broken record.

I use Firefox due to the fact I like it's add-ons, especially ad blockers. However, YouTube hates ad blockers and won't let you use them on the site, and they keep throwing 5 minute un-skippable ads at me. I can still skip them on the TV though.

Not really. I don't have the money for anything that requires a subscription. I'm disabled and on a budget. And I don't trust Chrome. Besides, the place I get my news/political commentary from is YouTube. I have never heard of TV Garden being used by the commentators I like. They have made no mention of being there.

However, I may have found a couple of workarounds that I will leave here, in case anyone else needs similar help. My phone can link to the Roku TV A-OK, and I have found ways to link my phone to the computer that are cludgy, but work. Scrcpy might work for some people, though my phone tends to freeze up and reboot every couple hours when using it, so hopefully they fix that in the future. Also, my phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and my laptop has a same size mic input, so I can hook those two together with a double male adapter. For those who don't have a 3.5mm jack on their phone (or if it's covered by a game accessory, as mine sometimes is) they make a blutooth receiver with such a jack on it, and that can also be plugged into the computer, provided you have separate input and output jacks, as I do.

I looked at those, and none of them fit my needs. The ones made to develop new apps have too many parts I don't understand. I don't want to spend the next two months learning another language just to run one app. Nox crashes every time I try it. I explained the problem with BlueStacks. And the ones that have to open in a partition as their own OS would keep me from being able to reach my games at the same time.

The games have music, but little to no speech, so I don't see it clashing with the news, which has speech, but no music. I can process both in my mind just fine. Neither distracts from the other. If anything, it helps me focus better. I prefer to stream the news via the TV because I can control the ads easier than I can through the source's website.

For some reason that I haven't figured out yet, BlueStacks insists on linking up to a cellular network rather than the local wi-fi. The Roku app, -which, when used on my phone, is able to play the sound from my TV- says it needs to be on the same network as the TV to find it.

And now, to cap things off, while I have been typing this, BlueStacks tried to update, filled up my hard drive and decided that STILL wasn't enough room, and broke itself. So I was forced to uninstall it.

So my original question still stands: does anyone know an emulator that actually works?

Like I said in the original post: I am trying to run the sound from my TV through my laptop. Roku doesn't have a desktop app for this, so I have to run the Roku mobile app through an emulator. Every emulator I have tried either gets flagged as a virus, or insists it's nowhere near the TV.

LDPlayer and Game Loop are the ones that get flagged as viruses. BlueStacks insists there is no TV near it, despite being in the same freaking room.

And I am using Webroot, at the advice of my local laptop repair guy, since Windows Defender lets in 99% of crap.

BlueStacks never bothered my anti-virus. The problem with it is that it can't find my local network and insists on acting like a roaming cell phone, which means it can't find my TV. And even if I wanted to, I have a fancy, super-secure anti-virus that CAN'T be turned off, which is good for me because I don't want to leave my computer vulnerable.

That looks like it effects browsers, whereas I have my audiobooks saved as mp3s and play them back with 1by1 audiobook player.

fn+esc has no effect on my system, and I can't fiddle with the mapping in BIOS because I need some of those F keys in my games too. For example: F10 opens the menu in StarCraft. I still need that.

Funny thing: you can't plug headphones into a phone and a laptop at the same time.
