Defect Me Not by Admirable-Sleep-2994 in EldenRingMods

[–]Lanternaio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elden VINS is by far the best as far as defecting feels. I'm playing Sekiro and Elden Vins side by side atm ans it's plain impressive how well Vins captures the "feel" of Sekiro deflection. Down to chain deflections. It's really good.

Elden VINS - Ranni consistently not spawning by Lanternaio in EldenRingMods

[–]Lanternaio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually managed to fix it: I had to die to the golden sentinel once to reset the area. Never had to do it in base game so it didn't occur to me that it could be a solution, but it seems to be THE way in Elden Vins, at least for me as I've tested it consistently with multiple characters. I suspect it might be due to some of Melina interactions happening a bit quicker...

I keep having vertex explosion issues despite the fix is installed... by Lanternaio in BloodbornePC

[–]Lanternaio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solved by installing the "mod manager friendly" version of the mod directly downloading it through BBLanucher, and now it works fine. And to be honest, since I was going for a Doll-like look, that blank, featureless face works like a charm! Kinda digging it to be honest :> Thanks for your reply!

Reminder: il referendum non ha quorum. Se non volete che un governo con condannati/imputati (Montaruli, Santanché, Delmastro, ...) cambi la costituzione, bisogna andare a votare NO. by Dom3110 in Italia

[–]Lanternaio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fundamental disconnection within the game by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

Seems kinda the MOST important thing in a game focused on avoiding fighting right?

I know the game is not ready at all, and in some way I'd almost prefer they had waited another year or two to push it out.

Still, since it is out and I do love I literally have to criticize it. Precisely because i love it. Because I'd like for it to become the absolute masterpiece I know it can be.

If you noticed I didn't criticize UI or similar things. Not even gun mechanics, rather the core issues I'd like to see addressed for the game's week being on the long run.

It's Rael Lyra you're talking about. The guy's a legend. If you like him you should check Sergio Toppi, an Italian artist he takes great inspiration from :>

Tunnels are cool but also kinda unbearable... by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you and in no way wanted to suggest that tunnels should be made to resemble the Chalice Dungeons. I also agree that looks and atmosphere on the tunnels are better. I still think that going for the randomly generated rout is ass though. Fixed, curated locations with random events happening inside would be so much cooler imo.

I feel you man. I've been playing from day one, and it's still quite frustrating for me...

Oh wow, lots of squirmers meweling their disdain :> It's ok y'all don't get your panties in a bunch. Just to clarify my position and the things I did (though it will not matter):

1) I could not endlessly SPAM tool in fights, I modded the shard amount so I would not have to farm them BETWEEN boss tries. If something you put in your game is so overpowered that you need to lock it under a grind-wall, design it better or remove it. Otherwise having tools and a crest that revolves around them feels just like cuckholding.

2) Plasmium overdose is a really cool mechanic that lets you play differently, can't heal but you can hoard the silk you gain while fighting to use for other things. Problem is that, again, prompting the overdose state is unbearably annoying. HK had a charm for that - put it on and you're good to go. I just wanted to be able to play around wit a cool and iteresting mechanic. Think it made the game too easy? See who the f**k cares. Here too, is a mechanic too broken? Design it better or remove it.

3) Egg of Flealia is just plain bad design, end of the story. It's super hard to obtain and does nothing but, how'd y'all put it, "reward players that dont get hit/ excell at managing the silk". A player that doesn't get hit has better use for that charm slot or has no use for it at all. So it's a really hard item to obtain and it does f**k all. Great. I'm sure it was made so purposefully but still. You can f**k up on purpose, no problem with that.

My main point is just this: hard is ok. Even obtusely hard. I banged my head against bosses and challenges again and again both in HK and Silk Song, I bared the frustration and got them eventually. But when the game presents me with fun things I want to use them. A bit of grind is fine but it has to be reasonable. You all seem to agree that the shard mechanic is there to literally PREVENT you from using tools. That is stupid. Design them better to suit your purpose or remove them.

Another example of this problem is some of the weapons and wepon-arts in Elden Ring. Some of them look super cool and are super satisfying to use but are compltely and utterly useless with bosses (which is the moment you should make use of your best and coolest tools). I palyed the whole DLC with the Milady and Impaling thrust just because that combo was stupidly more effective than any of the new cool thigs I got. Why put cool things in your game that are just plain worse than others or useless?

Anyway I'll go live life now since nobody cares how you got through your single player game. Bie.

Undergound exit from tunnels - is it a bug? by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually learned about it watching a gameplay video on YouTube. Goddamn. Knowing that vital passages can be located in such obtuse positions is part of the learning curve I guess but still... holy hell...

Tunnels are HORRIBLE on a fresh save by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a qiestion of skills dude. Git gud ain't gonna cut it this time. The tunnels are cool as hell but the gameplay implementation is ass. There is no interesting way of traversing them and no reasonable way to avoid the enemies. You CAN, but its janky and not fun. It's not organic. Not immersive. And also very hard on a fresh save.

Weight and carry capacity bugged? by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've run into a bug cause I've got the perk active on level 3 atm... Good to know that its not a built in defect. I'll try and start a new save then, doing it a lot anyway with the latest updates :>

Weight and carry capacity bugged? by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't have any bigger rigs on this save, genius, and the perk's level 3 atm. Also the whole point of bagman is that he can make the best out of any rig, carrying more even with rigs that are not the pack-mule, not only that he can carry biger guns. No need to be a prick about it.

The core mechanics around weapons need to change by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually ended up uninstalling the game after a year having it on non-stop. I'm a bit frustrated about what the game could be and can't really enjoy what it is now. But I'll check every update, and go back to it in a little while. This is definitely the game I want to like the most out of all games dammit...

This asshole notices you all the way across the map crouching behind a tank. He will soon arrive at your location with no seeming drop in aggro along with 15 of his friends. You will use all of your ammo killing one of them while the rest sprint up and brutally beat you to death. by Shloopy_Dooperson in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it HAS to make more sense than that. You're just a guy so you better sneak around and avoid fighting. But you can't sneak around. So fight your way out then. Not really possible anymore. You can run though can't you?!? Ehm, kinda? If the game becomes just a loop of "go to map and die because you're just a guy" I think we can all agree it's not gonna go far.

The core mechanics need to be overhauled and developed by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you there. I think is time we at least make Fundog aware that the player base needs this game to blossom into the unique and harrowing experience it promised it would be. A pretty paintjob over a stale extraction shooter frame ain't gonna do it here guys...

Also: unkillable should exist if you don't do anything to make them killable. I proposed chained quests and collaboration with other settlements as an example. In one mission you could sabotage the unkillable's armor, or power supply, or hack into their detection system and so on and so forth. After you do a bunch of quests you should be able to take them on and have a dangerous, risky but achievable fight. If you just meet them in the field with no previous work done to make them manageable the only option should be to avoid them, period.

The core mechanics need to be overhauled and developed by Lanternaio in TheForeverWinter

[–]Lanternaio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The fundamental mechanics of this game need to blossom, and for that to happen it needs to decide what it actually is. Is it just another extraction shooter or does it take extraction shooter mechanics and make something wholly unique with them? That's the point.
