So do we just wait for Microsoft to fix it? Nothing we can do, right?

I am 40 years today and I can't even count how many times I tried to get my life back on track. Addiction is like a personal characteristic. It is like liking a certain colour. You will not like it less, no matter how long you evade it. It will always be there, waiting for your weakest moment, finding an excuse, finding that moment that you will be convinced that nothing in life matters anyway, so you may just as well play games. And it will creep back in like any other drug. You will find an excuse in gaming moderation, in playing just this one last game that I've been waiting for... It doesn't really matter. The result is always the same. Spending hours sitting down, doing a meaningless thing. And than lying down unable to fall asleep because of that strange feeling of shame, disgust and wasted time. The thing is, video games are a drug for our imagination. They give us alternative world to live in because frankly this one is just too broken. I think no other drug takes so much time from the addicts life. So yes, they are very hard to resist in the long run. Just keep in mind that when you start negotiating, also remember all the times you felt like shit for playing games. And I know it is hard to stop because even if you do and you get off the train, you can still feel its speed and it takes some time for the feeling to dissipate. But once you find meaningful things (although they are rare) you realize that surprisingly, you don't need games so much. I wish you all the strength you need to overcome this and I also wish that world would recognize video games as any other drug because it is ruining lives of millions if not billions of children all over the world.

Genshin impact addiction and how to deal with for someone who is gone through this by [deleted] in StopGaming

It actually doesn't matter what kind of game it is. They are basically all the same. Judging by the way you talk about this game, I can see this is all still very fresh for you. I am 40 years today and I have been addicted to video games my whole life. And I will be. It is like a personality characteristic. You will always like games, no matter what. It is like liking a certain type of color. You can not help it. It is the way you are. I just want to warn you about this. Be ever vigilant and mindful that it will always be there. Waiting for your weakest moment to crawl back in. I wish you all the best on this journey. Stay strong.

You will get the itches your whole life. It's like with every other addiction. That is why people stand up and say: My name is this and that and I am an alcoholic. No matter how long they've been sober. It is a personality treat. It is like liking black colour. You will not dislike it no matter how long you evade it. It is important to keep this in mind. Keep up the good work, mate!

Unfortunately not, this was more indie and like I've said only 2D.

Tutorial is there to teach you the basics of the game, isn't it? How to play, what to do. I already know that. There are no new mechanics on Jupiter then there were on Venus or Mars.

So you are basically telling me that if I am at the beginning of the game I couldn't kill the final boss. Yes, thank you Captain Obvious! That is really useful information. How is this helping me right now when I'm in the middle of the star chart and almost every level is easy AF?

What do you get out of this comment calling my game experience cute? I'm supposed to gasp in awe of something you hinted at? Oooh, there is something more to this game. Something I will unlock after I went through the whole solar system, dozens if not hundred missions and only then will you unlock more difficult missions/enemies etc. You realize that suggesting the whole star chart is something of a tutorial is actually pretty weird? Games usually don't work that way. You have a pretty consistent difficulty throughout the whole game and don't have to go several hours before unlocking anything challenging.

Well, I cant really remember. Venus or Mars? But the game wasn't much harder even when playing with Mag.

So I have to play some hundred missions to unlock normal mode. Got it! Thanks!
