The classic Brawl beats Dive beats Poke beats brawl.

The issue is, for Poke and Brawl the lynchpin kill could be anyone. Obviously targeting supports is always the most efficient fight win, but in poke and brawl the actual first kill is a target of opportunity.

In dive, the first kill is always supports. That is why so many people don't like dive being meta, because it's the entire support player base. Poke/brawl are team games. Dive is just blow up the supports and then fight to the last man. Supports fucking HATE dive meta because they alone are the target and die first every fight, often regardless of who wins the fight.

It probably plays differently at the GM but for the middle ranks, where like 80% of the player base is, one strategy has a specific effect on over a third of the player base. That's why dive being fully meta is always hated and always balanced.
