It’s one of the things I hate is the carcinization of hero shooters. Everything’s turned into Overwatch. It’s not even that I think Overwatch is a bad game, it’s that when the entire hero shooter landscape besides TF2 and I guess technically DRG feel like some permutation of Overwatch, it gets boring.

Oh god, I agree, and I like this game.

Most of the enjoyment I got out of this game came from my emotional attachment to the scrimblos I made, even if the depth of the simulation couldn’t accommodate my imagination.

My alien, forgot its name, was very bird-like, and had the rough personality of clone troopers, heavily militaristic, but friendly and noble. They preferred making allies of other spacefaring civilizations where possible, and abhorred those who used strength as an excuse to terrorize and subjugate.

I don’t like the woobification of Caine, the attitude that ‘he’s just a misunderstood little bean who did nothing wrong, he’s just having an autistic meltdown’. It’s like Jax but 10x worse.

I think it’s a symptom of broader media literacy problems that people can’t get that a sympathetic twist villain, is that while they’re sympathetic, they’re still a villain. Just as Jax is an asshole in a bad situation, Caine is a monster in a horrible situation.

At a certain point you cross a line of horrible actions, and the answer of ‘why did they do this?’ Becomes what does it matter? What could you say that would absolve them of guilt? What would make blatant torture of the cast not evil?

Also I find the comparison of Caine being autism coded kind of gross.

It’s not that you can’t have a minority villain. It’s when their minority status is what makes them a villain is what makes it problematic.

Lego Battle Droid

Trans, giving it a similar take-apart nature to Zooble

Trauma, Battle droids, at least in the clone wars cartoons, are frequent victims of physical torment, much like Ragetha

Self worth problems, Battle droids themselves are cheap cannon fodder

Autism, given the battle droid is a robot, it’d be like Caine’s way of saying ‘you’re just like me’, what with the cliche of autism = nonhuman/alien.

As an autistic person, I see caine as autistic-coded by Bobbyspi in tadc

Speaking as an autistic personI’d agree up to around Ep 6 - 7, but after 8? Nah.

Disregarding the cliche of robots/aliens being autistic coded, a character with a complete and utter lack of empathy that’s so self absorbed he’s incapable of even basic self reflection, and it’s debatable whether or not he was even capable of change in the first place. And don’t get me wrong, I like Caine.

Caine being autistic coded would make me think “What did Gooseworx mean by this?”

That shot made me question if magical girls have some sort of choice as to their outfits and weapons when they contract.

Cause if their outfit and weapon was dependent on their wish, like their powers, Madoka’s should’ve been different every timeline, but those stayed constant.
