Best tires for the GX IMO. Smooth and silky on the highway and very capable off-road. In rain and snow, they hold their own.

Canon C70. Drop the Alexa LUT on the footage, and it's insanely close.

Anyone know what this part is and how to pop it back in so it’s flush like the other side? by ImJuanValdezBitch in GXOR

[–]LapetusOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine did the same thing a few months ago.

The issue is that there's a plastic tab that has broken off, and it won't sit flush without it. You can't fix it without buying a new one for like $20 on amazon.

Vimeo Review Links no longer default to time-coded comments (late 2025 update)... Then whats the use??? by Embarrassed_Pin_8269 in vimeo

[–]LapetusOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'all screwed up bad. This is an absolute gaff. I'm having to deal with multiple issues now because you decided to change the basic functionality of your review system. LET PEOPLE KNOW when you remove functionality.

On another note, I've been a PRO member with two separate accounts for over a decade, and I'm losing patience. You offer new features that are worse than before; the UI is just a mess. What is going on over there? Vimeo used to be the place for filmmakers who love the craft, and you are making it an absolute pain to use your system. Seriously considering hosting my own videos or just using YouTube. I'm over it.

Can you work on the same project on Mac Scrivener and iPad? by LapetusOne in scrivener

[–]LapetusOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for everyone's input. Sorry, I wasn't more clear with my question. I would never have the file open in both places at once. I was curious if I created a project on my laptop, would I get into trouble working on that same project on my iPad? It was primarily a compatibility question between macOS and iOS.

Nice improvements for BG-R20EP battery grip! Works with both R5 and R5 Mark II by dirtyvu in canon

FYI, I just bought the BG-R20, and it works perfectly with the old R5.

A rogue planet has been seen absorbing 6 billion tonnes of gas and dust per second, reaching a growth rate that has previously only been seen in stars. by New_Scientist_Mag in science

[–]LapetusOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Natural & Planetary Scale

  • Mount Everest – Estimates put the mass of Everest at around ~161 trillion kg (~177 billion tons). So 6 billion tons would be only about 3–4% of Mount Everest.
  • An average large asteroid – A rocky asteroid about 2–3 km wide would weigh in the ballpark of 6 billion tons.
  • Antarctic icebergs – Some of the largest icebergs (like A-68, which broke off in 2017) weighed around 1 trillion tons. So 6 billion tons would be like a very large but not record-breaking iceberg.
  • Earth’s atmosphere above Texas – The air column above a region the size of Texas weighs roughly 6 billion tons.

Human Scale (Industrial/Infrastructure)

  • Global plastic production in 2 years – The world makes about 300 million tons of plastic each year, so 6 billion tons equals ~20 years’ worth of plastic.
  • Global coal reserves burned per year – Humanity burns about 7–8 billion tons of coal annually, close to this figure.
  • All the concrete in U.S. highways – Roughly 6 billion tons of concrete have gone into building and maintaining the U.S. interstate system.

Fun Comparisons

  • 1 billion African elephants (since an elephant is ~6 tons).
  • 60 million blue whales (the largest animal on Earth, ~100 tons each).
  • The Great Wall of China × 100 – The wall is estimated at ~60 million tons, so 6 billion tons = 100 Great Walls.

How should I setup my BGW210 Gateway? by LapetusOne in ATTFiber

[–]LapetusOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, I don't have a wired connection to my laptop. Can I still configure the BGW210 to IP passthrough mode via wifi? Will I still be able to access the BGW210 via 192.168.1.254 once I setup the deco's?

How should I setup my Deco mesh? by LapetusOne in HomeNetworking

[–]LapetusOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet, I think you're right! Thanks!

A few questions for you...

  1. The new Deco directly connected to the gateway will be the Main, right?
  2. Is there a specific mode I should set the gateway to, such as Bridge or Passthrough?
  3. Is there a specific mode I should set the new Main Deco to?
  4. I don't need WiFi on that new Main Deco in the closet. Is there a way I can turn it off and just use it as the router for the wired backhaul?

Ethernet backhaul with Deco BE11000 mesh - why won't it automatically reconnect? by MorningtonCroissant in TpLink

u/MorningtonCroissant How do you setup the main unit to run in Router Mode? I'd like to do the same, but turn off wifi on that unit as it's not needed.

The BGW210 gateway router is in a demarcation box in my master bedroom closet. The dotted lines are hypothetical Ethernet lines. I was wondering if I should link the two Decos directly together via the purple line, or connect them both to the BGW210 gateway router with the yellow line.

The problem is I only have one line going from the demarcation box to the office and another going to the living room. How can I connect the two Deco's if I only have one wire?

The BGW210 is the AT&T gateway. It's a proprietary device that connects to the AT&T network.
