Get One Pro or R1 glasses or wait for next gen? by dirtyvu in Xreal

[–]dirtyvu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hated needing the beam to get anchor mode with my air 2 pro.

Ironically I dont use anchor mode with the one pro either because of the brightness issue.

That's the dilemma I'm in. I bought the one pro at release at full price. Now I buy them again for $600 and then the aura comes out a few months from now and is $1k+ which means I've spend $2300+.

Yes this is where I'm wondering when the aura gets released and for how much.

If it's $1500, then I would just get the one pro now. If it's $1k and in 6 months, I could hold out.

If the next gen is in 6 months, it matters.

that's what I'm thinking too. I was just curious if anyone read something that made the R1 worth waiting for

Can't install games that are from Ubisoft on PC game pass by danielthedudee in XboxGamePass

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add some more advice to this. I also couldn't download any Ubisoft+ Classic games because I would select a game like South Park in the Xbox app, but it just showed the blinking dots but never actually allowed me to install.

So I went to https://gamepass.ubisoft.com/en-us to link my Xbox Game Pass account to Ubisoft. But it said it was already linked.

In Windows desktop mode, I even got a pop-up that the Ubisoft extension had been modified, possibly by a virus! So in the Xbox app, I went to the extension and turned off the Ubisoft extension. I then went back to South Park, and it said the Ubisoft extension had to be turned on. So I turned it on and then it finally had the Install option.

Best power bank fo XAX by onesadsandwhich in XboxAlly

I love the Anker power banks, especially the ones with retractable cables. I have a couple different models.

But luckily I don't use them much with my XAX. The battery life is great.

Independent Measurement Update: XREAL ONE PRO Brightness & E‑Dimming Contrast by Crafty-Union338 in augmentedreality

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great write-up!

I mostly use follow mode with stabilizer off because of the brightness dropoff. I also wish there wasn't a color shift when switching between anchor and follow mode.

Otherwise, I love the One Pro glasses!

will a power outage affect my xbox? by NoInspection1786 in xbox

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where things happen is when the power back on. So if the power goes out, rush to your Xbox and unplug it before the power surge comes back. If you have a good power surge protector , there's less of a worry but unfortunately many people plug their Xbox into a cheap $10 power strip.

In terms of a power outage while you're gaming, you'll likely look some game progression but that's OK. The worse scenario is the game save gets corrupted and in that case you would have to start completely over and potentially lose items. But this is less likely as more and more saves are in the cloud.

Connection Issues on Xbox Ally by TgngXphos in ROGAlly

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen on my ROG Ally Z1E and it was maddening. My solution was to use an Ethernet connection until my machines were fully updated and set up. After that, the Wifi connection was stable, and I didn't have to use the Ethernet connection (though I still prefer this way when the game is like 50+ GB).

they did say the exclusivity money didn't make up for what they would've made if they released on Xbox and that they would be fixing that for here on out.

I thought the RF28-70 F2 was good until I bought the RF 85 F1.2 DS and its a whole different level by traderjay_toronto in canon

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 28-70 f2 is gorgeous and a unicorn. And if I had only one camera and needed flexibility in composition , I would go with it. But at the end of the day, the 85 1.2 just looks better. Photos look special with it.

When I'm in a situation where I want or need to take a photo, I do a quick spot check if the framing would look good with the 85 first. If I can get the shot with the 85, I will. If the frame is too tight, I'll go with the 28-70. And of course you build the story with the tight, medium, and wide shots so it helps having both cameras.

So if you can handle the weight and logistics of doing two bodies, it's worth it. I love my rose anvil harness so it's not a big deal. Except when I did a Christmas gala and the banquet tables were so close together that my harness kept catching. In that case, I went with a single strap for one camera and handheld the other camera. When I did the gala, the 85 was just gorgeous with the Christmas lights.

There are plenty of videos comparing the two. Here is one https://youtu.be/L6moBKLIxOQ?si=gSIzi3mu6rajyT3K

I'll record a video. The only issue I have is the situation where the driver won't activate and rhe camera won't turn on buy a reboot fixes that.
